Love your talks about Egyptian food. I was there last year and i was blown!!! away by some of their food. I am still fantasizing about that breakfast food you talked about in the beginning or their falafel made out of fava beans i assume. Those were the BEST falafel I‘ve ever eaten. And you got them on every corner! Wanna go back 🥲

I grew up in Egypt. And I want to admit that it is soooo uncomfortable. I might even just leave the store 😂 But yeah you can always tell them you want to shop on your own. But overall it’s really overwhelming 🤭🫣

try to mash the hot fava beans with a clove of garlic and in your plate make a well fill with chopped tomatoes and green bell peppers and whatever fresh vegetable maybe hot pepper and then add olive oil and lemon and enjoy!
