As someone who’s read every Cassandra Clare book set in the shadow hunter universe I highly recommend reading it in publication order. Don’t read the last hours next or you’ll spoil too much, go straight into the mortal instruments x

You absolutely need to read the mortal instruments next!! It will be easier to understand the shadowhunters world and history as it was the first series (also Tessa and Jem feature!).

Happy New Year Haley ❤️❤️ I also agree that you should now read The Mortal Instruments first, then The Dark Artifices THEN go back to The Last Hours series. The Last Hours spoils things for The Dark Artifices trilogy (which is my favorite of all the series) but also you can’t fully understand The Dark Artifices without reading The Mortal Instruments So i would recommend : TMI, TDA, TLH in that order It will also give you the opportunity to see Cassandra Clare’s development as an author (City Of Bones might give you some whiplash at first, it’s set in 2007 New York, and it’s also the year it was written, so : very different from The Infernal Devices) I hope you will enjoy your Shadowhunter journey 🫶🫶 I haven’t reread TID in a while and you reminded me how much i love these books.
