On one hand I am loving this to have it as background while I work. On the other one I don't want to spoil me the show as I don't know much about this part of the lore :S Will save the rest of this one for later. Subbed!

Learning the lore will almost guarantee you don't know what's coming in the show. They've already butchered it beyond repair. There shouldn't even be wizards in Middle Earth during the second age. Definitely not Gandalf Sarumon or Ratagast at least. They don't come over until TA 1000. Spoilers if you haven't read the Lord of the Rings books or seen the movies, but Sauron falls to Elendil and Gil-Galad at the end of the second age 1000 years prior. Assuming the stranger in the show is one of the Istari, he's between 1000 and 3000 years early, or possibly 1600 years late if you take one passage Tolkien wrote later in his life to be true, depending on when the show is supposed to be taking place. But it's hard to tell, because they condensed the timeline so much to make all these charecters and events that happen thousands of years apart happen at the same time. For example, Sauron forges the Rings around 1600 of the second age. Isildur isn't born until 3209. Just to give you an idea of the about of changes to the lore they're making.

Oh man this is going to be so nice to listen to, cozy LOTR lore. Right when things were looking very grim for me. 😢 Do you know the word Tolkien coined - eucatastrophe? Always loved it and its meaning. I need one.
