Me, living in Paris: oh yeah let's go on vacation! Oh... It's Paris 😭 Also, tip for people actually thinking of going to Paris : if you want to go to the Louvre, book you tickets in advance and try to get there early or you'll be stuck in the queue for a while (I'm against visiting during summer because there are too many people but you might not have a choice 😅) If you're from a European Union country and under 26 it's free, you just need to show your ID If you arrive on a Monday or Tuesday get yourself a weekly Navigo card, you'll be able to take any transportation services in Paris without having to meddle with tickets and it's only 20€ for the whole area "Paris plage" isn't actually a beach, it's just lounging near the scene, if you want to go to the sea you'll have to get up early and go all the way to Normandy, the closest beaches to Paris The Eiffel Tower area is full of pickpockets, so be careful around there, and the park is definitely not the nicest to have a picnic in, I'd rather recommend the Buttes Chaumont Park, or the Plant Garden Avoid eating near the Seine, near Saint Michel neighborhood, or near Châtelet, it's going to be expensive and not especially good, and if you want really good food/cafe, the Bastille neighborhood is full of little gems If you go to Versailles bring your own food or it's going to be veeeery expensive; leave early as well cause the train might be on and off all day long because of work on the line, so you might have to take a bus instead If going for luxury shopping, I find the Opera neighborhood nicer than the champs Elysées (which are full of pickpockets as well btw be careful) Also if you want a romantic dinner the péniche boats have the best experience, it's very cliché and nobody actually living in Paris would do it but you'll have a beautiful view of Paris by night and the food is more than ok (but you won't have much choice), and it's not more expensive than eating in a "good" restaurant around If it's too much for you you can just grab drinks over there during the night All museums (including Versailles) are closed on Tuesdays so plan other things for that time!

As someone living in paris this is so funny to me bc this includes every single touristy-travel activity that most parisians avoid hahaha. Btw Paris beach is not really a beach, the Seine rives are just used as fake beaches and there aren't a lot of nice vineyards in ile de france, but the Bordeaux ones are AMAZING. The Louvre is great tho!!! I love it sm i keep visiting it all the time but during the summer time its just so packed and not nice, I would actually recommend other museums as well (Orangerie, Orsay, Pompidou, Rodin) sometimes they're less full. Be extra mindful of your space and the people close to you if you're in a touristy area, anything Rive Droite, (Right Bank of the Seine) 1st, 2nd and 3rd. These arrondissments are filled with pickpocketers and con people around the touristy areas. If its possible just avoid Champs Elysees and Rue de Rivoli directly, or try not to spend tooo much time there. If you're out at night, Paris is extremely safe but I would still avoid the 18th and 19th, I've never felt extremely safe there at night, as opposed to other arrondissements like 7th, 8th, 13th, etc.
