I'm from Russia 🥰 it was so nice to see familiar sweets that I see in my daily life! we have a tradition of giving kids new year presents filled with candy, just like this box🥰 13:30 - we eat them in both ways actually, sometimes as a snack (with beer or on its own) or in salads. and yes, there is A LOT of chocolate in our sweets😄 happy you liked it! hope you're recovering from your surgery well❤️

I'm not from Russia but from Belarus (small county nearby, we have many similarities in food) and yeah we have a lot of chocolate bars and chocolate candies that are separately wrapped. it was great to watch you trying sweets which I see everyday. thank you for amazing video, btw you're so beautiful 🥺💕

About us having so much chocolate treats: we’re a cold country, so keeping warm is very important during long winters lasting for most of the year. This is why we are huge tea drinkers. You do not expect this of us, but most Russians love their tea, drinking it basically any time we get a chance. I’m not a huge tea drinker myself, but I always have some in case a friend comes visit. So, drinking hot tea is always great with something sweet, and chocolate is just perfect for that. In the Soviet times, getting enough chocolate was difficult, so chocolate bars and boxes were considered almost commodity, leaving a cultural mark. This is why we just adore having chocolate with anything that may go with it

This is a light version of that subscription box, in hardcore version there must be the "golden key" toffy (by the way you don't need to remove withdom teeth at your dantist, toffy will do all the job). Seriously speaking, that "rooster" hard candy is most iconical and historical russian sweet imho.

Borsch is our SLAVIC dish, it's common for everyday eating in Russia too. I am both ukrainian and russian, moved to Russia. All this crap about "that's ukrainian, evil russians stole that" is kind of annoying. My ukrainian citizens can beat up a russian person for borsch, literally. I'm tired of this. This is COMMON dish. Not "really more Ukrainian". Nope. Nope.

I'm only 25% Russian, but it still counts, I guess Btw, there is a mistake in the recipe on the card. Russian cabbage soup is called shchi (щи), and borscht (борщ) is actually a Ukrainian beetroot soup And most of Russian treats are chocolate, as far as I know. We don't have a lot of snacks in general - sweets are almost always chocolate or souffle, and savory treats are like the ones you tried.
