YESSSSS! I love Lloyd's MRE Videos. I have always enjoyed those kinds of videos even when they were done just "normally," and I felt they were great unintentional ASMR. I joined the Marine Corps and was in boot camp from May til August of 2016! That's awesome you were able to get ahold of one of these. Crazy to say, but very nostalgic. Time flies. I got out in 2020. I believe I remember that particular MRE being pretty decent. It was no Chili Mac though!

I’m adding this comment prior to watching the video I am assuming a few things might happen. 1. Lloyd refers to anything bad-smelling as “smelling like dirty socks” 2. If there is a little bottle or packet, Lloyd will try to preserve it. 3. He’ll actually try the food even if he doesn’t like the smell/sight. 4. He’ll hold up the packet next to the mic so we get to hear it cooking. 5. He’s probably going to keep as much of the MRE’s kit that he can. So… did I miss anything? (Edited to correct my horrendous spelling/grammar)

So after watching the video, Lloyd didn’t refer to Dirty Socks, happily it’s because he enjoyed the food. Lloyd DID keep the little bottle of Tabasco sauce so one point for me! He tried the whole meal but didn’t object to the meal (except for a mention that the crackers were stale) Lloyd held the heating packet next to the mic so we got to hear it in action (it reminds me of Pop Rocks candy) And I’m going to assume that Lloyd is going to keep as much of the packet as he could (being the proper collector he is) So did anyone else have other guesses about what Lloyd would do during his review of the MRE?

Beef roast was removed from the mre menu list in 2013, so that mre is from 2006

Im not too sure who told you that is a 2016 MRE, its a 2006. Ranger bars are gone and "Beef roast" is 06 and 08 exclusive not to be confused with "Roast beef", "pot roast", "beef stew", or just "beef and mushrooms". You lucked out with that taster's choice btw, nice.

@@LLOYDSASMR Yeah as soon as I saw the plain pack I was suspicious, the Tasters Choice and no candy sealed the deal for me. Since it’s four digits with the latter three being the day of the year, the first one (6) could be either 2016, 2006, or even 96. You kinda have to know the menus and components to narrow down the date range too. You ate a piece of history there Lloyd! Consider yourself lucky.
