I was planning on throwing these 4 magazines out, but decided to postpone their demise by first spraying them with some water and using them for an ASMR page turning video. It's become second nature. 🙂 The resulting crinkles turned out to be of the "astonishingly crunchy" kind.
Are you subscribed to a particular magazine? If so, which one?
There's no particular magazine that appeals to me 100% but I do enjoy zoning out while flipping through random magazines that happen to be lying around. It doesn't require much brainpower and when some or other article seems to be pushing a political agenda, I redirect my attention to just the pictures and start drawing moustaches or glasses on people's faces.
Very mature! 🙃

What a perfect video! I think that magazines in Europe tend to have thicker paper. I realize it says water damaged, but even so, the paper seems thicker and creates such delicious sounds. Interesting that magazines in Belgium have so many article titles in English. I’m not sure what that’s about. Thanks for your videos and this one in particular just makes me so happy.

Glad this video made you feel happy, oh2sail! 🙂 Your point about the thickness of Belgian magazines is valid. It seems like the paper composition is such that when a page gets wet, it starts to sound like a cookie or a chip/crisp. At first, I thought it was because of the calcium in our water, but when adding vinegar to the water to eat up the calcium, it still resulted in a significant crunch when dried after having been water-damaged. Weird. Yes, more and more English is seeping into Dutch, hence the English titles in magazines. People younger than, say, 50, use anywhere from 10% to 40% English in regular everyday conversation. The younger they are, the more English terms you'll hear. Also, whereas in neighboring countries such as France and Germany, it's common to dub movies (you know, adding new dialogue in the audience's mother-tongue), in the Flemish part of Belgium, it almost never happens. So people are used to hearing and reading English wherever they go. Most young people would say English is their second language, not French or German (the other two official languages here). Thanks for your comment, I enjoyed reading it. Take care! ❤

The crinkles are pretty soft here. The feeling magazine has a gentle damp-like crinkles. While the interior design and the knack magazine are almost the same, but the design magazine was more crunchy while the knack magazine was more of a crispy rumble. And the top gear one has this gentle rumbly crinkles And about the set up. I like how everything fit together to make this warm aesthetic. The nails helped complimented the fabric. And as always, the backround is eye catching yet blend in at the same time. Good work Kat!

Hey Hey Kat! I wish I’d realized this sooner (Better late than never I guess): This well-deserved super thanks is for recognition of this being your 200TH VIDEO!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Thank you 🙏 so much for your passion, commitment and creativity in creating this wonderful ASMR channel! 🥳🥳🎉🎉👏👏🤗🤗 Thank you also for your unending patience and kindness in putting up with a certain subscriber’s unwarranted anxious outbursts (name withheld for privacy)🙄😜 Edit: Although I guess I’m no longer Super Darren, I know I’m still probably your biggest fan and because I’m always showering you with praise and compliments, I’m sure they don’t mean as much to you now as they once did. Even so, I felt it was important to add here that I’ve been reading a lot of your replies while on my journey through your catalog (ok, I know that’s probably weird, but I’m having a super time🙂) and, even though the reality is we are all just one big group of your fans and admirers, you have this magical ability to make each of us feel special. You can instantly put us at ease with your charming personality and warmth. I know personally, when you shine your light on me, you give me all the warm and fuzzies, and the more I read, the more it’s obvious everyone else feels that way too. So after reading many, many comments from so many people around the world, this is what I believe they (and I of course) would want to say to you: “Thank you Kat, for all the love and support you give to all of us. We appreciate you more than you know. Never forget that we are always here for you too” 🙂 Take care! 😀

Thank you so much, Super Darren. ❤ Yes, that's "Super" Darren. Let me explain myself better: the moment someone, say Cindy, gifts a Super Thanks, she becomes Super Cindy. For life. Consequently, you are Super Darren, for life. No other way about it. Those are the rules on this channel. You cannot escape. It's like an unwritten contract. 😋 Thank you for your continuing support and for all those compliments I feel I do not deserve. Wish I knew the person you are describing there! 🙃

Hi Kat!🤗 Hope you’re doing ok. I love the crinkle sounds in this video. I always preferred the smoother thick matte pages, but I think you’ve converted me. 🙂 The lighting is great too. Do you use some kind of light diffuser? Oh, and also..no..wait..keep it short Darren, keep it short.😋 Take care Kat❤ I hope you’re sleeping better 🙂.
@PoisabloomASMR
@PoisabloomASMR Жыл бұрын
Hey there, Super Darren! 🤗 Long time no read. 😉😀 I do seem to remember something about you being partial to matte, thick pages and page turning using the right hand as the active one and the left hand as the receiving one. See, I'm paying attention! 😊 I'll take it as a compliment that you enjoyed these thinner, crunchier pages as well. That makes me happy. For this video, I didn't use a light diffuser and I can't really remember the lighting conditions on that particular recording day. However, I do know I was sitting upstairs, near a pitched roof window (a non-projecting dormer window), which gives the best daylight, especially on just slightly overcast days where you can feel the sun is right there, behind that thin white veil. You can tell by the soft, rounded light on things all around. Maybe that's what you noticed? ⛅ I'm sleeping a bit better since being back home. Thanks for asking! ❤ I hope you're getting much-needed rest as well. Take care!

@@PoisabloomASMR Hey Kat!👋 I was worried that you might be getting tired of my long comments, but it appears you proved me wrong by writing a long reply of your own. Thank you so much! 😊 You know, I subscribe to 187 other channels (yeah I counted), and literally none of them give amazing replies like you do. In fact, most don’t reply at all. Granted, many of them have a lot more subscribers, so I get it would be hard to reply to so many comments. That actually makes me worry a little that when your subscriber base gets really big (and it will, I’m sure of it), we won’t get these wonderful replies from you anymore, and I would really miss that. That you care so much about a bunch of people on KZbin is astonishing to me. Even more, that you remember details from my boring comments blows my mind (..again. My poor little mind is taking a real beating here…but in a good way 🙃). I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. I’ll even shout it from the rooftops if I have to: Poisabloom ASMR is the best channel, of any kind, on KZbin, because of what you bring to it. I really mean that 🙂. Oh and I loved your description of your upstairs room with the pitched roof window. You must have a beautiful home. And that heavenly soft lighting is exactly what I saw, thank you. I’m glad you’re sleeping better. A comfy bed is really important. I bought this wonderful, thick bamboo mattress pad for my mattress a few years ago, and let me tell you, it’s made a world of difference. Is my bed more comfortable? Ab-so-lute-ly. Did it cure my insomnia? Ab-so-lute-ly..not. But at least it’s cozy when I’m awake 🙂. I got it on Amazon from a company called ExceptionalSheets. I gave it a 5 star review. I’d have given it 6 if I could. I think a good pillow is also vital, imo, for (attempting) good sleep. I use a shredded memory foam pillow that allows me to adjust it to the perfect height by removing or adding foam as necessary. Really comfortable. Do you use any comfort enhancements on your bed? You don’t have to answer if that’s too personal a question. Anyway, that’s my long two cents for today (sorry couldn’t help myself 😛). Thank you so much again, Kat. Take care and sweet dreams!☺️♥️

Don't worry, I'm not getting tired of your witty comments. 🙂 They are always entertaining to read and I often learn something new (Heygo, the Chic-Choc Mountains and now shredded memory foam cushions -> are those like normal memory foam cushions, with the one difference that a Rottweiler has been set loose on them hence the shredded aspect?). It's a fact that finding the right pillow is as challenging as finding the right mattress. Ah, First World Problems! 🙂 I have to look into ExceptionalSheets. Thanks for the tip. 🙏 The one extra comfort thing I use at night is a pillow between my knees; I'm a side-sleeper and it just feels more comfortable on the spine and neck to sleep like that. However, in the morning the pillow is never where I initially positioned it. It's either on the floor or intricately entangled inside the duvet, requiring some digging & shaking to get it out. 🙂

@@PoisabloomASMR 🤗 😂 Rottweiler, yes that’s exactly how they make them, hahaha. Ooh, knee pillow, I’ll have to look into that cause I have neck and shoulder pain, thanks! Ok, I need to stop so you can get some sleep, cause I think it’s past your bedtime. G’night Kat,Sweet dreams😌
