Ran a full marathon in 2022 using a training plan from Marathon Handbook. I would recommend their training plans! - 14:23

Merry Christmas Brynne! I’ve done a few half’s I like the couch to 5k plans, I do find that the half marathon plan is too many days of running (I got injured training on the treadmill) so I’d say follow that but maybe only do 2 days of running per week.

It's really finding out what your goal(s) might be and going with that. I've been running for 13 years, and my goal is to run my 1st 50k in July. In short, gear, training, hydration, and nutrition are your keys to a successful finish. 💯

7 year old running shoes??? It’s not so much the number of years but the distance you put on them and you should replace your running shoes every 300 to 500 miles. You should keep an eye on that, especially this year, since you are training for a marathon! Will this be your first? I have been using Nike Run Club for nearly 20 years and I really like their app and how it keeps evolving. They have several nice training programs and guided runs including a good marathon program on their app that I have used several times before. One feature I like is that you can use your own music or you can even try their recommended playlists and you can have that playing with a guided run and when the coach comes in to speak to you your music fades down to the background before coming back on when you are done listening to what they have to say. Also, some people don’t like the guided runs so you can do the entire program without doing any of the runs as guided as well. Like many running apps, Nike Run Club does a pretty good job mapping your outside runs and I have always found it pretty accurate for mileage even back in the day when you linked a device you put in your iPods to this Bluetooth style chip that you attached to your shoelaces 😂 Anyway, I also link my Audible and Podcasts to the App as well and personally use Spotify now and that links up very well! It’s been around a long time and I think a well tested training program for every level as well. By the way, which marathon are you running? Pittsburgh was my first in 2013 😃

Love this! So relaxing..... for info though.... running shoes need to be replaced every 500 miles or so. So if you're running 20 miles a week, then 6 months is probably the limit. It's nothing to do with the quality of the shoe, it's just that they lose their ability to protect your ankles, knees and hips from impact after time. Look after those joints.... you're gonna need them for another 70 years hopefully!

You should go to a fleet feet store or other running store and get your feet measured to make sure you are running in the right size shoes. Brooks are best, that's the brand I use.

Hey my dad is a runner and has been all his life he does half marathons now as he is 65 lol, but he used to do more than than half marathons etc, he had ran the London marathon way back in 2001 for a charity of his choice it was for 'The National Autistic Society ' and raised quite a lot, not quite sure how much but he done great, you should deffo keep it up aswell Brynne but we all know you will lol 😃👍
