From the way you describe your relationship with your Father, I am guessing he was not crying because he was keeping himself in the moment dancing with his little girl and remembering when you were a child and realizing that you, his daughter had grown up so fast&was thinking about not only you going to college, but your wedding day as well. Girl!! I’m 54 and I always post what got for Christmas on my IG. As for the moment of gratitude, I had the same thing happen to me on my way home from work and I had an entire hour of gratitude. Needless to say, if we are alive, have a job, can purchase groceries and have our health, we are highly favored.
