I still come back to this video, 8 years later. It was my first ever ASMR video, and will forever hold a place in my heart. I hope wherever you are, Vulpes, you're safe and happy. Thank you for the short times of peace you have supplied.

The candle is in a clear glass bowl that has been overfilled with water so you can't see the rim (surface tension, yay!) I also made an anchor for the candle out of a marble and some dental floss so that it would stay put in the center of the frame. I turned the lights out and placed the camera directly in front of the candle.

I go back and forth on whether I prefer soft voices or whispers. I whispered this one because I had gotten lots of requests for a whisper, but the next one will be soft-spoken. I feel like speaking the script will allow me to be a bit more expressive as well--whispering the whole thing was quite a challenge. :)

I use these videos not for tingles, (I don't get tingles from sounds), but to help me fall asleep. I have a very difficult time falling asleep and staying asleep, so any help is always beneficial. I'm also extremely sensitive to sound, and too often, some of these videos fail me due to certain sounds that are made. I found this video last night, and want to tell you why I'm so thankful for it: 1) Your Ts and Ds are not sharp and hard. They were soft. I cannot stand sharp, hard Ts and Ds. It makes me cringe and actually hurts my ears. I've come across many videos that could have been perfect (for me), were it not for those sharp Ts and Ds. You have no idea how hard it is to find one without them...and when I do find one, they go straight in to "favorites". 2) You did not have an overabundance of mouth noises. I understand that while whispering up close to a mic, we're going to hear your mouth click. Nonetheless, in some videos, ALL I hear are the mouth noises and it, too, annoys me. Makes me want to tell the people to drink some water, please. 3) You actually know what "whispering" means. Far too many videos I've come across say "whispering" in the title, and then they are not actually whispering. There's a big difference between a whisper and speaking low. Thank you for knowing the difference. I know these seem like nitpicky things, but when I'm trying to fall asleep, these noises really do sound larger than life, and it's so rare to find a video that doesn't do those things. I started the video, heard the match light the candle, heard some soft speaking telling me to breathe, and then the whispering started. Six hours later, I woke up. I have no idea what you said, it was that good. For someone extremely sound sensitive, you have no idea how grateful I am for this video. It was perfect. Thank you.

Wherever you are, Violet, your now silent voice continues to speak, and drop by drop from the candle I am here to listen. Your voice here, and the image of the candleflame, reminds me of so many things. From the opening lines of Cormac McCarthy's All the Pretty Horses to the beautiful poem Winter Night by Boris Pasternak, one of the Zhivago poems from his novel Doctor Zhivago. I print these here do that they may continue to speak to you. Wherever you are. From "All the Pretty Horses" by Cormac McCarthy The candleflame and the image of the candleflame caught in the pierglass twisted and righted when he entered the hall and again when he shut the door. He took off his hat and came slowly forward. The floorboards creaked under his boots. In his black suit he stood in the dark glass where the lilies leaned so palely from their waisted cutglass vase. Along the cold hallway behind him hung the portraits of forebears only dimly known to him all framed in glass and dimly lit above the narrow wainscotting. He looked down at the guttered candlestub. He pressed his thumbprint in the warm was pooled on the oak veneer. Lastly he looked at the face so caved and drawn among the folds of funeral cloth, the yellowed mustache, the eyelids paper thin. That was not sleeping. That was not sleeping. Winter Night by Boris Pasternak It snowed and snowed ,the whole world over, Snow swept the world from end to end. A candle burned on the table; A candle burned. As during summer midges swarm To beat their wings against a flame Out in the yard the snowflakes swarmed To beat against the window pane The blizzard sculptured on the glass Designs of arrows and of whorls. A candle burned on the table; A candle burned. Distorted shadows fell Upon the lighted ceiling: Shadows of crossed arms,of crossed legs- Of crossed destiny. Two tiny shoes fell to the floor And thudded. A candle on a nightstand shed wax tears Upon a dress. All things vanished within The snowy murk-white,hoary. A candle burned on the table; A candle burned. A corner draft fluttered the flame And the white fever of temptation Upswept its angel wings that cast A cruciform shadow It snowed hard throughout the month Of February, and almost constantly A candle burned on the table; A candle burned.

A FIX: art of the problem: ASMR recordings are usually so quiet that I can't make out the words, so I turn the volume up very high. Then some urgent, sharp voice recorded to grab your attention and be heard over background noise BLARES. IF AMSRtists turn UP the volume at recording (or in post) then we could playback at a normal sound level, and the impact of the obnoxious ads would be less. If ASMRTists released LOOPED VERSIONS, those of us who must mask loud backgrounds could play them all night. Obviously, autoplay would just result in another jarring commercial every 15-30 minutes.

I try to be the greatest friend I could be, but people hurt me and take advantage of me. I've always thought that I've been a bad person. But after I saw these vids, my insomnia and anxiety had miraculously died off. And after hearing her say that I'm a good person made me cry. ❤️
@bollynerd10 жыл бұрын
Devin Steward you are not a bad person, but perhaps you are struggling with setting boundaries with other people. Get psychiatric help so you can learn when you are within your rights to be angry and stand up for yourself and when to let it go. Popularity is the worst goal to chase because you are giving others control over yourself and they know it. they will make you beg for it and then shame you for begging. Chase more worthwhile goals of being a person of high integrity, healthy body, getting top grades, helping the needy etc. Notice, no university gives scholarships for being popular! The less you chase it, the more you'll get it :) Good luck. You are too young to screw your life. Now is the time to build a strong foundation ... you owe it to the world to be a strong, positive and upstanding person. Now go forth and blossom!
