Lovely video, although I really recommend getting cut-resistant gloves, finger cots, or cut-resistant finger tape that also does the job because as your knives dull with use it'll become really easy to hurt yourself Wood whittling is one of my hobbies so this video both delights me and I am concerned for you
@AnalogMachine3 ай бұрын
Seconded. I'd personally recommend the gloves, since it's more coverage. I've managed to do some fairly heinous things to my hands with a potato peeler that slipped (I'm fine now), so I can't imagine an oops from an actual wood carving tool.

Loved this video!! So interesting to hear your thoughts on sounds - I always find that ASMRtists' way of discussing sounds is fascinating. Wood tapping is one of my favorite triggers, so that was my favorite part of the video lol but the wood carving sounds were very cool too! Thank you for sharing the video with us!

Everything about this was *perfect* it hit all the tight parts of my brain -the mini info about the types of wood (loved that) -the knife sounds‼️ those were so good -balsam- loved it’s thick “meaty” sound -passwood? The scratches were so nice, reminiscent of brushing -black walnut- gave off cork vibes -beech- that’s the typical wood sound I picture and adore so I love it Sandal wood/rosewood- adore the “higher pitch” Thank you for taking such careful attention to this! The only thing that made me a little froggy was with the balsam wood because it’s a “softer” wood it squeaks like styrofoam and that sound gives me the heebiejeebies but that is a me thing not a quality thing

The subtitles are hilarious for this one! "This wood is called also wood" (It wood, wouldn't it? Sorry, I'l see myself out). Aaaanyway, for me the only truly relaxing carving one was the first one, the others felt too much like work. But tapping the different wood types and crushing the shavings was nice!
