Another masterpiece! I can only imagine the amount of production work you put into your video creations from lighting and shadows, to camera angles and very shallow depth of field - so well thought out and executed. My favorite tool is the tiny plane 21:18 . My favorite still shot (converted to greyscale with gamma adjustment) is pouring the glue crystals 5:15 . Thank you for posting and I'm really looking forward to Part 2.

And I pick up my violin each day, never thinking or rarely thinking about the work that went into what is a very good medium-grade/mid level violin. It might not be a Guarneri or a Stradivarius but it is all mine and she sings when I can make her sing.

Great video! Do you purposefully orient the grain on the corner blocks so that the mortise for the linings is at 90 degrees to the growth rings? (at 37:30)
@MekwokStudio Жыл бұрын
Thanks, Stradivari did this in some of his violins, so I follow the path. But it won’t affect the tone quality.

Will you please get a friendly violinist to play some music on your violin on camera so we, who also play our violins can hear this one? I completely enjoyed watching your video. You are awesome. God bless you!

What kind of saw do you use to cut the rib wood from the raw block? I have used a western rip saw, but I’m wondering if there’s a more efficient saw. Thank you.
@MekwokStudio Жыл бұрын
I used to use a rip saw too, but I found that there is an all purpose saw, and yes it is more efficient.

I've tried different saws . So far an old fashioned 24inch rip saw is the best for me . Put up a comment if you find something better .

The thickness of the ribs are 1mm. The corner blocks are defined by the Form, and you can go check out the video on Templates and Form for that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZ_Hpqxrndd7fZY
