you'll have a huge head start :) but just know that the first phase of getting into playing chess involves a lot of mistakes and losses. One thing is knowing the theory - but to apply it in practice is another. With that said I have never heard anybody start playing and regret it. It really is a fantastic game!

Chess started becoming more popular around the time I found your channel, which coincidentally is when Queens Gambit became popular as well. With that said, I got into chess because of your videos, lessons, and history videos. I played hours on end while I watched your videos for weeks. I decided to start taking it seriously for that reason and I ended up buying two books, and I dropped a pretty penny on a set. Hey man! I can’t say enough how much I love your videos. One tiny bit of constructive criticism, if I may, you seem to start very “whispery” and perfect for sleep and as the video proceeds your voice slowly gets slightly louder and louder. I can’t imagine how big of a pain it is to whisper for 45 minutes, but if I may I would just ask that one tiny thing change just slightly. Again I LOVE the videos and I love your analyses of these incredible games and I also enjoy the “talking” tone but when they are mixed in the video it does slowly become slightly less relaxing!
