Great job - I don't have any cobblers near me who would or could do this, hense buying new Birks every year or so...

You can probably send them in somewhere. Where I live, cobblers and Birkenstock retailers send in the shoes to the local importer who will repair them. A complete footbed replacement (keeping only the leather uppers/straps) is under half the cost of a new pair, including postage.

It's a cork renew(sealant) to protect cork.
