These kind of analysis really makes me think about the differences in fashion between countries and what counts as beautiful.
@Black.Spades2 жыл бұрын
Colour analysis is kind of "universal" (if you can call it like that). It's about the undertone of your skin, and the colour of your eyes and hair compared to the type of colour (shade, brightness, warmth or cold) of the garment. As well as balance between your body size and structure vs clothing. The balance or harmony is something (almost) every human would be able to see. But of course cultural preferences are not about harmony per se. (although I think historically a lot of culturally popular styles were made for the average "ethnicity" of that culture, and so they would fit most people in that culture)
@CreativeCat8792 жыл бұрын
Same with the hair and makeup videos. Very different and toned down in Japan in comparison to other countries
@מיכלזוניס2 жыл бұрын
@@Black.Spades I feel like a lot of the colors mentioned in the video are interpreted very differently in different cultures. For instance the bright colors are considered loud and the light colors are something that is considered universally fashionable in my country. And so the colors that are considered flattering here are not something that I would wear for example.
@Black.Spades2 жыл бұрын
I understand, and that's why I said that cultural style is not about harmony per se. And that cultural styles are generally flattering on an average person from that region/ethnicity. Because people of the same ethnicity have more similarities appearance-wise. If the majority of a region has a loud (bright) warm skin undertone, bright warm colours will likely be culturally popular. Some ethnicities have more cool undertones, and you can see them wear blue and pink way more than yellow and orange. Soft cool will like pastels. Bright cools will like cool neons. Soft warms may like olive and earth tones. Of course in the end one should wear what they like. And history knows many interesting fashion trends. But what is the chance that a colour will be popular in a region where the majority of people will look grey-dead or sickly yellow in it?@@מיכלזוניס
