You hear God's love and mercy in the music alone. I had greatly distanced myself from God for almost a decade, not wanting to live after cancer and nothing could change that, until for the last time I put my hand up to shake my fist..but Yeshua had different plans. In my most hardended heart of hearts, my darkest depression, I felt God calling my name and he opened my eyes, mind and soul. As he called, I felt a presence that was saving me at the last second so instead of shaking my fist to God, but instead my hand clasped the other and begged for forgiveness, mercy, wisdom and love. He turned my contempt for humanity into compassion. He turned my massive igorance into massive knowledge, and my great foolishness into great wisdom.

The change of heart you had was you. For each believer. Their concept of god comes from within. I've heard many believers state. That they feel god knows them so well. Yes. Because what they think that god wants. Is their thoughts. Their inner mind. Their subconscious. Their id. I have never had god come and talk to me. To tell me what he wants. And what he wants from me. Just people who tell me what god wants. And what he wants from me. Tbh. They are full of it. They don't know Anything of the sort. Ask yourself this. If your god existed. Why would he need anyone to argue for his existence?
@rationald67998 ай бұрын
The changes for good that you made. Were your own doing. The brain is amazing with what it can do. I say it's a safe bet that you we're going through a period. Of soul searching. Existential crisis. And so on. Your brain came up with a way. To cope with the issues you were having.

God saved me from death. He delivered me from a tornado. Jesus died for everyone. God spoke to me through a preacher. I had went through a difficult time and he wanted me to be healed from it. I have a intercessor now who prays for me. When the words are not coming from anyone else. Please remember you are worthy of the father and he will meet you wherever you are.
@rationald67998 ай бұрын
And what about the people who died in tornados. And other natural disasters? Or accidents. Do you suppose that they weren't worthy of being saved? Especially the infants. The ones who die in natural disasters. Or from diseases etcetera etcetera. I guess they were evil. Smdh. Yes. I know I'm being sarcastic. Sorry but I have issue with someone. Who has the mindset that you. And others display. I grew up a Christian. I was going to go into the ministry. It was not my intention. But I came to the realization. That I no longer believed. I could not be honest with myself. And accept things. That outside of the church / religion would be considered absurd nonsense. This is just the tip of the iceberg. But in the Bible. There is a talking serpent. A burning bush that talks. A donkey that talks. A virgin giving birth. And a dead person coming back to life. I'm sorry but in my reality. Serpents don't talk. Burning bushes don't talk. Donkeys don't talk. Virgins don't have babies. And the dead do not come back to life. I'm not trying to get you to leave your faith. A person has to come to their belief. Or non belief. On their own. I just want you to try to understand why others might not believe as you do. That does not make someone evil. Or misguided. Because they don't believe the way that you do. Or don't believe at all. I've encounter Christian's who would be totally mystified. When they find someone who doesn't believe as they do. Or don't believe at all.

I have chills listening to this now, more than 20 years after first hearing it. Christian music has taken such a different turn since his passing. I've had such a difficult, emotionally-fueled spiritual journey so far, from when I grew up Christian to now as I struggle to understand how I "fit" into religious categories. That's not important. What's important is that this guy made me passionate about music and it forever changed my life. I never would've gotten excited about playing piano or guitar or later percussion if it hadn't been for his musical style that became so intrinsic to my own. I hope Christian artists never forget this man and his contributions to their genre and don't get completely loss in vaguely positive synthesizer music forever.

I am same age as Mullins. These children in video would be my childrens ages. I love watching the children here and often wonder how they are today. Praying they had a prosperous life, great adventures and lives woven in the Love of God and Living Word. Namaste

Only "discovered' Rich after he was gone. Wish I'd known him before... "A man after God's own heart", if you ask me. Thankful for the gifts God has given men and women that ultimately bless the rest of us. Thank You, Lord, for your servant, Rich, whose music, lyrics and life have have enriched my own.

Truly one of a kind in so many ways...one of a kind person, music,and how he lived. He was not selfish and put others before himself. Most what matters is he had CHRIST in his life and heart and shared Jesus with all thru his music and life. He blessed us all and we shall see him in heaven

I had the fortune of meeting his brother and daughter in my new church. They are such great people and really tell great stories about him.

Love this song so much. Just watched the Ragamuffin movie on Netflix - it was a beautiful film about a normal man struggling with life who rose to fame despite his best efforts!

Amen! I'm sorry but in my opinion NO ONE can do a better job at this song than the writer himself Rich Mullins. He was also a great example to all in his walk with Christ and his everyday life. He touched my life and still does even though he has one to be with our Lord and Savior. Thank you for sharing this beautiful song. It is a blessing. John 1:12(NIV1984) 12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

Rich Mullins was one of the absolute last Christian artists who cared about what God wanted. I don't exactly see Christian musicians today going off for four years to live on Indian reservations and live in obscurity. I don't exactly see the popular top five Christian artists today going into South America and Mexico for months at a time and no one knows where the heck they are. Rich Mullins gave everything, and the music was merely an afterthought. There are only three guys in somewhat recent Christian music history who even come close, that were somewhat popular. Thi'sl , who got shot on the street to St Louis and Chicago spreading the gospel. There is a man named Dwayne Triumph in Liverpool England. And although some criticize him, Lacrae is at least trying.
