@@edawg011 those who understand music will agree with this statement! there is a big difference between this and the EDM shit being played nowadays where music is concerned! trance is progressed a lot since it first started, but it is a matter of people taste, some people like it pure and some like it progressed but it still had that feelings and deepness in what trance has to offer! what happened after 2013 is just too much! they completely moved away from generating this unique sound and started making it more suitable for big room events! EDM being played now has zero feelings in it and is so annoying and banging as it is basically made for bigroom events!

This is probably the best and certainly the most tracey set I hear from all of the ASOT parties. I can't believe it's only 50 minutes into a 3 hour set and it feels like the very end. Absolutely incredible. I agree with others saying Armin isn't the same anymore, but it is understandable that this kind of stuff may not work in arena size rooms. I surely must have listened to this years ago, but don't remember it. I certainly wish I was there. The closest to this for me was him playing in the UK (Ministry of Sound I think) for the start of ASOT 500. Unfortunately (and fortunately for him) Armin will probably never be in a room that small again. The crowd would probably wreck the place :D

I was there in Toronto!! At the pre-party too holy shit I was so lucky! It was an amazing day, an amazing lineup and an amazing set, IIRC Guetta was playing another space in the venue simultaneously but I wasn't interested in that lol. Armin came on at like 2 AM, too, if memory serves, so the room was already jumping! Partied until dawn that day :D Kicking off ASOT 500 at MoS sounds fucking epic!!!! Koolhaus and the Guv (same venue, so many rooms!) are sadly no more, along with most of them from back then, all condos and retail now. To help set the scene, though, imagine a space maybe 100 feet square, dimly light with cool blue tones and a moving scaffolding lighting setup with strobes, spots and maybe a few lasers, smoke machine coming from all ends, bar on the left, stairs up on the right, DJ on a lifting platform straight ahead. Can't have been more than a couple hundred people, just the right size. Having seen another trance show in the Skydome, the acoustics are no match to dedicated club PA!
