I remember seeing this a long time ago, and the ending still feels as nice as it did the first time I saw it. They won, but Tj realises for him it was a somewhat hollow victory as his best friend Dexter was gone, but the movie had the sweet happy feel good ending that I like in movies. To bad hollywoke has forgotten how to make movies with those kind of endings.

I was 20 when this came out and was just getting into skiing seriously. This became the movie that my friends and I would watch the night before we were going. We had a certain run at Alta Ski Resort that we named Aspen Extreme where we would have to do the jump and turn your ski's in the air because it was a narrow trench to make it through it. I've loved the movie ever since. Bryce is so sexy. Anybody know if they still hold Powder 8 tournaments anywhere in the world?

I have enjoyed this movie since it came out in 1993. Gotta love all the fake baking and teeth whitening.. Must have been one of the first movies that everyone had perfect teeth! All that aside I love this movie.

I believe he’s the maintenance guy for the slopes. When they first get to Aspen and hit the slopes he’s the guy that gives them a lift to the top. Either way he’s got some sort of position with the ski resort.

@@gfi4495 No, that was a major plot feature, with Dexter dying it brought home to Tj that dreams can have sad endings, but from them can come a new beginning, for Tj it was his dream of becoming a professional writer and by telling the story of his long friendship with Dexter, and their shared dream he reconciles the loss of his best friend, and by doing that a new start to his life begins with the woman he loves. It was a great movie showing how the human spirit can overcome loss.
