Thank you for posting this vid. This is how I remember skiing both areas in the 60s and 70s. They didn't groom much back then.I really miss those days.

thanks for uploading this. until now, the Loge Peak lift only existed in my faded memories, such a cool lift. also cool to see @ 04:25 what would become Broadway - never knew it started as a narrow ridge. not a single original lift exists at Highlands today (2019). the individual ruggedness of these two areas is forever gone :(

Yes, I agree...I would guess that litigation may have been part of the reason.

cool vid! Lucky you got to experience those places back then. Now they are way too crowded and over-developed. Now at the bottom of Aspen Highlands they have "ski-valets" waiting for you. These are people who work for the Ritz Carlton there who wait for you & help you take off your skis and get you what ever you want. Luckily the Merry-Go-Round has been left untouched. Once you step in there you feel liked you've stepped back in time-to a better time!

Wow, sounds like quite a change. I also understand that they removed the Loges Peak chair some years ago. Too bad, as it was quite an experience to ride it. -Mark

Thanks for posting. Great to see shots of Vail from 1970. Vail was the best. 1975 to 1982, such great memories. Did you ever get to the movie bar known as The Slope'?
