Aspen Highlands is a wild mountain whether you come for the peak or the parties. The resort has wide open runs with lift access, but the riding doesn’t stop there. THE reason to visit, is Highland bowl. This is Colorado riding at its finest featuring extreme inbound steeps up to 48 degrees. But the only way to reach them is to hike.. up and up and up. Earning your turns here is a rite of passage adventure. If you’ve ridden in Aspen but never dropped into Highland bowl, you are missing out.

@@snowboardtraveler everywhere! Supposed to be in vail in a couple of weeks. We’ll see if I can still go. Would love to be able to go somewhere with my family (10, 7, 3 & TBD) but all of them are pretty new at it. Home hills have a mere 250’-700’ vertical. Nothing like out west.

Hopefully the snow keeps falling to open more terrain! Similar weather to last year where the back bowls barely opened by Jan, but one or two good storms can open it.

Aspen Highlands is my favorite among all 4... and yeah, I got intimidated by hiking that bowl I regret not doing it last time ... hope I can do it next time :)

Yes we are putting together a Snowmass video, probably up later in January. Fyi, there are not many runs open at Thanksgiving unless they receive a lot of early season snowfall.
