DEFINITIVAMENTE esto no tiene punto de comparación con ABSOLUTAMENTE NINGUNO de los cánticos que hoy día se entonan en la iglesia católica... Gracias a todos quienes hacen posible esto.... saludos desde Colombia....

Another brief explanation : High Mass was preceeded by the ceremony of sprinkling with holy water instead of the 'prayers at the foot of the altar'. Depending on the time of year , one of two hymns accompanied the ceremony - Vidi Aquam or Asperges Me. The priest wore a cope (sort of cape) of the same color of the vestments for that day. After the holy H2O ritual, he'd remove it & put on the usual; chasuble which was laid out ahead of time near the altar.

It is the Kyrie in F for 3 voices by Rory Lucas, who is also the organist at this church.

@rpgabc123 I used the term "mumbled" as you must know that with the older form of the Mass , 'we' , meaning priest and altar boys ; were usually at a greater distance from the congregation than today. And , ...'we' had to hear certain cues so as to know when to carry out special rubrics like kneeling beside the celebrant to lift his chasuble during the elevations

This is absolute trivia , but having been an altar boy for many years in the old Latin Mass , & having to be able to hear the prayers said by the priest , I could say Mass in Latin if I had to .( I'm not a priest.) Parts of the Mass that were read silently , were , in reality , mumbled so we knew when to get the holy water or incense or lift the chasuble during the elevations. Mass was much more complicated then , but being in Latin was great. 'We' could zip through it real fast on a hot day.

@Bartskibeat I'm afraid I've been completely misunderstood We NEVER 'zipped' through the mass in a disrespectful fasion but I may have made it sound that way. I think also that people today aren't aware of the fact that much of the Mass such as the Canon Missae was read silently except for "Nobis qoque peccatoribus". I've been reprimanded needlesly . Pax tecum.

My old parish priest used to say when I was a teenager and took my dog everywhere if the dogs at mass he's at mass. My dog still comes with Me everywhere.

What is wrong with bringing a dog to Mass? I live in a Franciscan parish and we are, if not encouraged, we are not discouraged to bring our dogs to Mass as they are creatures of God and, as St Francis said: "Our little brothers and sisters". Many years ago the friary cat used to arrive at the beginning of Mass and settle itself on the radiator. At the end it would wander off to do its cat things.
