Asphalt 9: iPhone 13 Pro with 120 FPS (read description)

youtube only runs videos at a max of 60fps. I’ve had this option available on my device since the previous update but I mainly use my iPad to play this game which runs at 60 fps lock despite the screen being at 120hz.
I’d describe the performance on my 13 Pro as very smooth and stable in the most recent update, However the device does heat up and the screen auto dims to a lower brightness after 15-20 minutes of gameplay. I still think playing this game at 60 FPS is the better choice as it doesn’t affect the battery that much and the device easily runs it without heating up or lowering the brightness automatically.

The difference mainly comes from the player developing faster response towards things in game. It won’t make a significant difference for 1 lap races at all.

Same situation here. After 5-10mins it will dims. Kind annoying while in the middle of the game and specially if your track is night like in Rome and shanghai kind pissed off. Anyway i’m usinh also 13pro max but not heat to much😉

Hello, Bro just wanted to tell you is turn your device into Low Power Moder under the battery settings and then play a game to 120fps then the device is not heating up and it will not affect your battery life as well... I have been doing this since It has been available on my iPhone 13 pro... GOOD LUCK BROTHER...

Yes, It worked really well with my 60hz 12pro but I tried it with my 13 pro and it works as well but the issue is that the lp mode lowers the screen refresh rate to 60hz 😂 so the 120 fps option becomes useless. I play at 60 normally using the method you suggested.

@lealyn Not at all, in my opinion the 13 pro is the smartest choice to get (which is why I did) these phones have better battery life as well as are the best value out of any top end smartphones to get, because of the price cut after the 14. The newer phones are only worth it if you feel the sense of FOMO XD.

Bro android can beats those apple low stats like (ROG). Don't overhyped and overproud on Apple, so weirdly kind of name like "apple" Is what we eat. Snapdragon gen 8 gen 2 can beat those trash apple phones. Apple even cannot handle 120fps (always auto dims), battery drains like a water. Never say -i hope they'll unlock 120 fps for snapdragon 870 in future- ever again, it can already, earlier.

That’s partly because of bigger android companies like Samsung, Asus, Running a monopoly in terms of exclusive device support, ROG phones and High end Samsungs have 120fps option, The game devs enable it. Your phone itself is fine. Edit: I personally use iOS mobile devices but as a tech enthusiast I’m aware of things on almost all platforms.

Yes. it just increases the fluidity of the game animations and improves your reaction times if you are already an experienced player. This logic applies to any fast paced game. Because you can see more at the same time on the screen as compared to 60fps.

Interesting. Cause I've checked some KZbin videos about IPhone 13 and 120 fps, and it does get pretty hot. Not to mention it couldn't keep the 120 fps for much, and it automatically dropped down to 60, or the screen was dimming a lot, to the point you couldn't see anything.

I think it could be because I was playing in an air conditioned room without charging, Charging also generates heat in the device. Also I was told that apple made some changes to the way the chipset manages power in iOS 16 on 12s, 13s. The heating issue was most common on 12 pro models, even worse than the 13.

Asphalt 9 is a lot more demanding because of superior graphics, physics and details. Any mid-high end device made after 2018 is capable of running Asphalt9 at 60 fps. Asphalt 8 is an 10 years old game.

That’s really strange, Both of those devices you mention are supposed to have 120fps feature enabled on them by the default. Maybe check in device settings if you have limit frame rate turned on, Or try to update device software.

Yeah it suck the bigger device doesn’t have this option yet. It’s literally a setting in code.
