Michigan Freeways - Brighton to Port Huron - Suburban Detroit - Interstate 96, 696 and 94

Drivelapse video of several freeways in Michigan, starting in Brighton on US-23 and heading easterly through the northern suburbs of Detroit, following Interstate 96 and 696, before heading northeast along Interstate 94 to Port Huron and crossing the Blue Water Bridge into Sarnia, Ontario, Canada.

Great work on covering both the I-696 and I-96 jobs. Traffic is going to be a nightmare for these next 2 years. Love seeing the Blue Water Bridge at night

I didn’t really notice the flex lane gantries going up on I-96 when I drove through there in June, which was a month after you filmed this. Good to see more of those going up. I found the ones on US-23 kinda cool. I enjoyed seeing another sunset drive too, and 696 is always fun. I found it to be one of the coolest freeways I’ve ever driven on. Nice work on the video!

6:10-7:45 is the area I’m most familiar with on 696, because I live close to there and I use it a lot Whenever I go on 696, I enter from Woodward ave (around 7:29) and I usually head east and take the exit onto I 75 North (around 7:45), I pretty much only go west on 696 when I’m heading to the Southfield/ Farmington area

Back in last year's spring, it was time to return back to Canada. We all know that the Blue Water Bridge is the only freeway bridge between Metro Detroit and Southwestern Ontario connecting I-69/I-94 and ON 402. The Gordie Howe Int'l Bridge will be the second freeway bridge between Metro Detroit and Southwestern Ontario connecting I-75 and ON 401 and will be a game changer for crossing the Canada-US border.

You're right, the I-96 flex lanes are finished now. I haven't been to that part of Detroit since this video was recorded to see them for myself though.

That's not impossible, but probably not. I don't find Hwy 21 to be all that interesting anyways.
