Phoenix is a great city to drive through, especially at night. Its freeways are very clean and well kept, and just have a different vibe to them.

There's already a lot of development springing up in different areas of it. The south side will pretty much always stay the way that it is though, the reservation is down that way. Towards the west end of the south mountain freeway (when it curves north), there is a lot of available land to develop on both sides of the freeway, which is where a lot of housing is starting to pop up.

That stack at Loop 303 and I-10 is just as impressive as anything in Texas. In fact, it is a Texas-style 5-level stack (with frontage roads intersecting on the second level), and I really don't know of anywhere else outside of Texas that has one of those. And the mainlanes of Loop 303 are at a lower grade than its frontage roads throughout the interchange, despite the wide spacing between the I-10 frontage roads, so this is a true 5-level stack.

Phoenix took a lot of inspiration from Texas style freeways. Frontage roads are very common here (although they aren't quite everywhere like they are on urban freeways in Texas. However, large parts of I-10, I-17, and the Loop 101 have them, some of them extending for many miles).

I'm pretty sure the I-110/I-105 interchange in South Central Los Angeles is a 5 level

Word is, a new "I-10 reliever" freeway between this new South Mountain freeway & perhaps a Loop 303 extension running a couple miles south of I-10 will likely begin construction within the decade... And to top it off, it looks like another new freeway connection between 202 @ Gateway Airport & likely Tuscon may happen... but on the other hand, hasn't Tuscon been adamantly anti-freeway compared to Phoenix?

Nebraska still installs high pressure sodium bulbs. However, their freeways have LED, but they are dimmer and have the orange LED feel instead of the bright daylight led you typically see
