Yep and I will be interested to see how they do though some of the gaps in their armour are above very brutal places to be hit, like the sciatic nerve.

Grandson six yrs old tested privately was "probable Aspergers". School pscyh team came up with "developmental delay ". Is this to save money on the school's part? Also, can you do a session on the younger children? Thank you for all you do for others. It is helpful.

It may be the school dropping the ball (who knows, they might be right). Depending on where you live the quality of Special Ed can vary a lot. What do you mean "do a session on the younger children"?

how does the rattan sword weight compare to period steel weapons? the point at which the splits occur, is that the area just past where most of the strikes land? interesting to see it :)

Depending upon the rattan stick and the builders skill they can be quite close. I have a 55" two-handed sword that is within a few ounces of perfect for a period example. The split happened in the general area of where most of my strikes land, but being as how everyone fights differently it seems everyone has slightly different failure points. Of course you sometimes get rattan that is weak and dies quick. The average life of a sword is 6 mo to 1 year. I try to buy mine from Icefalcon Armoury or Munition Grade Arms.

I taped up the one handed sword I was showing in the vid and weighed it. It comes in at 2lb 6oz.

+Cindy Lewis Just type in SCA Crown Tournament into the KZbin search bar and something should come up, well, lots of things. As for the bruising, it happens, just got to get used to it. I joke that the problem with fighting full contact is that sometimes you get fully contacted. ;) BTW the book The Armoured Rose by Tobi Beck was written for women in the martial arts from the perspective of a female fighter in the SCA.

LOL! Kendo's not too bad. Shinai rarely break bone. What I do in armor's more brutal, and what my friends are doing in Spain at the IMCF for Team USA (USAKnights.org) is even more so. :)
