I think you've managed to find your calling card with this documentary. You have every chance to become the SummoningSalt of Touhou world records. And hey, if it helps to make the west more aware of Touhou score runs and help it branch off beyond its niche borders, then go for it! Brilliant work!

Really well made video! Was super interesting to see how strats developed over time. I just want to say, ASAPIN was one of the early WR holders for Touhou games, but he didn't just drop off the face off the Earth once he stopped that. ASAPIN went on to devote a lot of time to playing Japanese mahjong and is currently playing in the pro-league in Japan. He was the first person to reach the rank of "tenhou" on the widest-played online Japanese mahjong platform, and the he did it again for fun becoming the 11th person to reach it. ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E6%9C%9D%E5%80%89%E5%BA%B7%E5%BF%83 ASAPIN is just a great gamer all around and it's always super cool to go back and see him demolish touhou games when he was only about 15 years old.

Serious voice: This strat simply known as... "The Stage 4 Opener". 44:44 *proceeds to utterly destroy Asapin's run while Capitol City of Flowers starts playing* Will this be the end of our good friend Asapin? 😳 Haven't finished the video yet but, heck, I wasn't expecting this shonen anime vibes on the hi-score records history of a 18 years old game.

I like how some of yuyuko's bullets are called foods like "rices" and "donuts"
@BinglesPАй бұрын
Although a slight nitpick I have with the video is that Asprey keeps calling them "Rice bullets" when that's the name of another type of bullet that they aren't. Rice bullets are for more oval shaped bullets, which in terms of PCB, only really appear in the Extra and Phantasm stages. A more accurate term for the bullet he _calls_ "Rice" would be "leaves", or perhaps more literally by-geometry, "pinched ovals"/"rounded rhombuses".

Thanks for the video, I really enjoyed it, and you obviously put a LOT of work into this. Do you mind if I give some (hopefully) constructive feedback? I think that this video has some points that are kinda dull, and this is speaking as someone who really likes TouHou and has played a decent amount of PCB (as well as the other games). You mentioned that you were inspired by Summoning Salt's videos, and one thing which I think that they do really well is manage to make them fun and engaging even if you haven't played the game that they're talking about by adding in more elements of narrative storytelling. Your video was incredibly thorough and well-written and I hope that you make more of this style, but it'd be even better if it was more entertaining and accessible to people who aren't already hardcore-fan.
