Hi !!! At question 8.11, the variances are given along with the sample size. F stat = MS (large)/MS (small), so isn't the sum of variance to be divided by the degrees of freedom? = Fstat = (2237/30)/(1347/60) = 3.32. As it is a right tailed (one side), alpha is 0.05 and not 0.025. F at 0.05 from the table is 0.57. F stat is greater than F table, hence there is a statistical difference. Please correct if i am wrong

I believe these questions a fairly representative of the ASQ exam questions. Some of these may even be a little more difficult that the normal question you find on the ASQ exam. They are great test preparation questions. You may also want to check out the Six Sigma Green belt test, the Six Sigma Yellow Belt test and the CQE (quality engineering) test questions, which are also published to KZbin. Thank you for the video, sir. I have a question. For question 8.11 at 37:44. Shouldn’t the null hypothesis, H0 be variance 1 = variance 2, and the alternative hypothesis ,Ha be not equal? Because from what I am understanding the null should always be equal. If the F Cal is less than F critical, then we fail to reject null hypothesis, then the variances are equal, there is no statistical difference?

Yes - with my class I send you our Instructor Notes and the Primer (from Quality Council of Indiana). Both of these can be taken into the testing center. Let me know if you would like me to sign you up. Thanks Rahul

Yes, you can even write notes that are very similar to the exam questions and take with you to the exam.
