I just bought this card about 2 months ago from microcenter for my first ever build. Working great for me so far! Very happy! I would love to see content on this card specifically. What you are actually able to achieve with it and settings and all. I think it seems great but I have no reference/experience with any other cards. I have it paired with 7700x, trident Z ddr5 6000, 980 pro M.2 2T on a MSI pro x670 wifi (running wired) with a powerspec 850w 80+gold and no issues at all!

That content will come don't worry. I found out the best settings for me here are 2600MHz max clocks at 1110mv. I pull 300W max while performing better than stock :D> i can go higher to 2700MHz max, but I get around 3% perf increase for 40W more, not worth it at all

Something that'd be really interesting is to see if the performance gap between 6950 and 7900xt maintains or if the 7 series drivers widens the gap. Probably wouldn't make sense to do rn, but in a year I'd be very interested in the results (cause i have a 7900xt but almost went with a 6900/6950xt).

Enjoy the card. I have the same one. Has the best power delivery of any 6950 XT. I put a Byski water block on mine and overclock the hell out of it with MPT. 2900mhz/2410mhz game stable and 2855mhz/2410mhz 3dmark stable. For the most part it matches 7900 XT performance at those overclocks. Definitely a fun card to tinker with.

Indeed, but it will push like 450W haha, I believe the best clocks for this card in terms or performance per watt are 2600Mhz max as you are able to achieve a max of 300W P.Draw

@@AncientGameplays 100% agree. If I was to leave it stock cooling I would have undervolted and ran it around 2600-2650mhz like you were saying. But with disregard to power usage and having it on water I just went for max performance. And you're very close with the estimate on wattage. I think software wise it's telling me 420w but I know at the wall it's probably slightly higher.

Really considered this card but I said screw it and went with 7900xt for $779. Loving the card. Still using ryzen 5600. Barely bottlenecks it at 1440p. I play single player games so if I get 100 fps plus I’m happy.

I like the AsRock card designs. I have their Phantom Gaming D 6900 XT that I got for $580 back around Christmas. Such a great deal! 🔥 Great power, good headroom for overclocks, solid cooling, nice design. The 2 downsides are coil whine is noticeable if your PC is close, and Polychrome sync is horrible (like almost all OEM RGB software)

@@Pand0rasAct0r_ Thats great, I'm glad you don't have the irritating noise 😂 Early on I would have agreed that it's possibly just my card, but it seems pretty common for these cards to have noticeable coil whine. I'm going to try pushing my undervolt as low as I can, while being stable, at stock speeds to see if that reduces it significantly or if it is similar in noise level.

Hey may I know what temps you're getting with this card? Mine easily hits 100c on the stock profile, and occasionally close to 110c, but it never quite gets there. I know I could undervolt / raise the stock fan curve, but it just seems that the temps are too high at stock (Also repasting it did literally nothing.) I uh, do apologize if that was mentioned in this video as I didn't watch the whole thing.

It depends on the case. Even with fan at 54% max and close cased +24C ambient I was around 95-98C hotspot. With an undervolt temps went massively down to around 80-85C

What you just received there is the most powerful 6950xt PCB that was made. Buildzoid did an entire video on its analysis. The OC Formula brand from Asrock is extremely special, and they do not bring it out very often besides their best try hard products. I got the Asrock RX6800 non XT for $450 in a bundle with Dead Island2&Calisto and I already had those two game's pre ordered so I basically canceled the preorders and got that money back so in the RX6800 actually only cost me $320 then like $80 of tax&warenty I upgraded from a RX580 8GB so that was a massive deal and a massive upgrade my budget was $500 and the RX6800 was straight the most powerful card I could find there was the RX6800XT but they where very hard to find they kept getting sold out instantly so I settled with the RX6800 before that special bundle deal ended. Now I just need a new monitor to replace my TV so I can actually go above 60fps and not have terrible inpute lag the Gigabyte m34wq seems the best under $400 then I'm getting another 16GBRAM that'll cost about $50 then I'm replacing my current CPU 3600 with the 5800X3D which are selling at a very nice $330 then I'll be set or a very long time and won't need to upgrade anything for years to come.

I have the same one. It's been an EPIC performer! I got it before AMD did the price cuts, for just 700 bucks new, newegg had deals last year. :P It can perform 4k ultra in nearly everything damn good. Update: Figured I'd edit since you mentioned terms of cooling, etc. This card NEVER gets over 72, its hard to get it to even 70 period. Which I also use a custom fan curve but its SUPER quiet. :D And unlike Nvidia, These bios switches actually change the BIOS not just fan profiles.

Wassup Fabioooooo!!! Does it really make a difference if you run 3 dedicated 8pin pcie cables to the GPU instead of using the pigtail? Does using it cause power constraints or different boosting behaviors? I have always avoided it on 3 8pin cards. The PSU manufacturers suggest not doing it on 30 series. Perhaps you could test it out? Thanks.

I've tried an identical anti-sag bracket that came with my MSI 6950 XT, was completely useless. I'd rather have manufacturers give up on this type of accessories and rather price their products down. However, what I do find really cool, is that RGB on/off switch. I'm not into RGB that much and having to install MSI's Dragon Center is a big no-no just so I can control the lights. A physical toggle is preferred, I just wish more manufacturer's would offer this option. Anyway, great job with the unboxing, the card looks really nice and the cooler is beefy, so temps will definitely be lower than cards from other AIBs.

I've had the 6900xt of this model by a year now, and I haven't still figured out how to mount the bracket. When I screw it to my case it's far from the gpu and doesn't keep it. You know why?

nice, but i'd rather wait for the next generation of gpus, which will eventually offer best performance/price (nvidia wise, unless they ditch the gaming market segment alltogheter) and a more optimized architecture (amd wise, perfectioning their new multi chiplet design and thus solving most of this gen issues with drivers etc)

havent watched the full video yet but im almost 100% sure that the formula is a good buy. i have an old 1155 socket AsRock motherboard...it still runs...and it handles the i7-2700k just fine. lots of PCIE ports and even PCIE 3.0. for a cheap motherboard, it even comes with a heat sync. its great. never failed. and the formula is their high end for RNDA 2 so im sure youre going to love this GPU. the Formula went on sale right after i baught my Red Devil 6750xt...ended up being 850 canadian...wouldve been a steal. Hello, I hope you will reply, I need your help. So im making benchmark videos and I have few gpu-s which im using. But after upgrade to intel 13th gen when I use ddu in safe mode and remove my drivers after I put another gpu in pc I don't get display signal and pc is working so I have to shut down pc on button and turn it on again to be able to get display image. This is happening in like 90% of time I swap my gpu. Before upgrade I had problem like that only with 1 gpu. Also my previous pc and this now both have integrated gpu-s. The only difference I have seen it that before when I remove my drivers pc boot in windows the resolution is really low something like 800x600, now it's full hd every time. I never connect to the internet when installing new drivers, it's really annoying. I hope that you have some idea how to fix this.

I have a ASRock Radeon RX 6950 XT Phantom Gaming D 16g. Also a really good card. I would have liked to have the best version like the formula. But those weren't in stock anymore and probably never will be. But the card I got cools good still. Junction stays around 90 and the gpu temps around 70-80. Memory also around 70-80. I can run it between low 2700 max 2800mhz speed for sure. I didn't test more. I've said the memory on mine to 2400. Didn't try to do more. It draws around 330w max so not bad either

@@AncientGameplays yes indeed! will you do a video showcasing this with games? what i think also would be a good video is showcasing the 6950xt with a different range of cpus. like ryzen 2000/3000/5000 and 7000 than you can see how hard the bottlenecks are at for example 1440p. i would love to see such a video :) I think in tripple a titles like cyberpunk, witcher, or now the new jedi survivor when it releases it will be really interesting.

I almost grabbed this card. Ended up with Asrocks 7900 XT instead, but the price of this card, for the performance, is actually pretty crazy. Anyone who got one, shouldn't have to worry about an upgrade, for a while. Assuming they don't expect to run Native 4k 60 on everything.
