ASRock TRX50 WS Review - The most balanced TRX50 board

The ASRock TRX50 WS has a simple name for a reason. It's a no nonsense Threadripper board, that fits in neatly between the other two on the market. At $700 it's not a cheap board by any means, but it is more affordable than thew SAGE and only a little bit more than the AERO-D.
May not look like much, but it's a solid offering that ticks all the right boxes without much fuss.

Having owned this board would you recommend it? I can’t decide between this or the asus trx-50.

Go with the ASUS if you can. Honestly it's by far the standard for this platform. Unfortunate it doesn't have Wi-Fi so you'll have to get a card or dongle if you don't have one already. However if $899 isn't an issue for you, get the SAGE for sure.

This board only takes Ryzen 7000 series and as for RDIMM recommendations. Of course I'll go with Kingston Renegade. V-Color seems to have high speed RDIMM kits as well.

Yeah its a bit disappointing that on a $700 motherboard there's no USB V4 or TB. Could have done without the SlimSAS instead

I’ve been trying to install the ASROCK thunderbolt 4 aic and cannot get it to work. I can see the thunderbolt devices attached, but I can’t approve them in thunderbolt control center. Any thoughts?
