I appreciate the fact that you both acknowledge the fact that Armand’s backstory is very real to a lot of people. I’m a CSA and exploitation victim and IWTV is my favorite series. I began watching it a bit after I reported at 15-16 and continue to watch it now that my abuser/father is in prison and hope I will be able to watch it as a comfort up until my trial date. It is a hard watch, but it is so beautiful. It is really important to me and to many that they handle these hard topics with sensitivity and grace. 💚

Your comment truly moved me and I'm so glad you can find comfort in IwtV - even when the show deals with something so deeply personal. I know that a lot of issues that the show delves into aren't just made-up TV drama but things and feelings that real people face. I have faith in the writers/creators and judging from what all of the cast have said in interviews, they do, too. So, here's hoping we get to experience many more seasons of this wonderful story. Thank you so much for sharing

Armand in the show is so gorgeous. He is my favorite. He embodied him, especially in episode 5. It's a shame Assad and Jacob have never done an interview talking about that brilliant episode 5.

Assad is the perfect Armand - you can really tell he's given his portrayal a lot of thought and heart. As for joint interviews - I hear ya. Honestly, I just want a full cast commentary of the entire show :)

i really really hope after iwtv he gets more recognition. its a pity that AMC is barely promoting their own show because these actors really deserve emmy nominations. assad's portrays and understands his character so well, its such a treat to see interviews of him given how lovely he is. you asked him some really interesting questions and i love that you let him shine instead of commenting all the time! much love

Thank you so much for the kind words. I could honestly listen to Assad talk for hours - too bad we only had 10 minutes :D The entire cast and crew deserve a whole bunch of awards. I really hope we get a 3rd season and the show gains more mainstream traction and recognition (hopefully with the deal to stream on Netflix in America more people will tune in).

I don’t know what Armand is like in the books but I think Assad is brilliant on the show. I hope he sticks around for s3!

You and me both! He's amazing as Armand and I can't wait to see more of his interpretation of the character. He has a fantastic grasp on what makes Armand tick :) Thanks for watching and commenting!

He will, he is mostly in The Vampire Lestat book, and Marius, who you will meet in TVL, he made Armand into a vampire btw. I love Assad as Armand, he embodied him so perfectly, and he is as gorgeous as Armand in the book. So glad someone picked him to play Armand. I can't see no one else playing him now.
@joann31904 ай бұрын
Also, Gabrielle, who is such a bad azz mom, I love her, she is Lestat's mom. And also, you'll meet Magnus, who made Lestat into a vampire. And of course, theatre of the vampires will be their too (the original ones), and Nicky, you met him in season two. I loved the book. But, I am still on the fence of tv version of Lestat, I didn't like his version of my brat Prince. I still loved Tom Cruise as him, but that's my opinion.
@joann31904 ай бұрын
And Louis will also be their, BUT in the last episodes, when Lestat is going to do his concert. Also, you will meet Akasha, who is the mother of all vampires! Read the book, it's so good! I love Lestat, in the books, that is.
@joann31904 ай бұрын
I hope they do Queen of The Damned too. I love that book, it has the talamasca in it, witches, and of course, the ancient vampires.

I had never wanted to read the books and i had only watched the movie, but assad's performance is so amazing now i'd like to read the books and find out more about his backstory, but it sounds like it would be heartbreaking so maybe i'll wait ! So lovely to hear Assad talk about his experience and what they envision for the future
@roguemousey4 ай бұрын
Armand's backstory is indeed one of the more difficult ones to read about. We've seen glimpses in the show but "The Vampire Armand" book delves into it deeper and... yeah, it can be a tough read. But it's worth it to see his own perspective and get to know him better. If you feel up for a challenge, I'd give the book a chance. As far as I know, Assad actually started acquainting himself with Anne Rice's books by reading "The Vampire Armand" (and not the first book, "Interview with the Vampire"). Maybe that's something you could try :)

The vampire Sam seems to be some sort of echo of Samuel Beckett (not in hairstyle) because they talk about a character called Guido who Sam says represents Hope. Which is what Godot represented. What???? WHY the Beckett reference???
@roguemousey3 күн бұрын
Considering most of the show's writers - including Rolin - have a theater background, the reference to Samuel Beckett seems to be a cheeky nod to theater nerds :) We also had a Jean-Paul Sartre cameo earlier in the season, so we're obviously dealing with some high-brow humor :)
