I think the reason why the second game looks the way it does is that the team wanted to replicate the look of the old paintings from the Renaissance. The Ezio Collection receive some backlash for changing the graphics to make it more…uh, realistic?

You CAN do stuff like the jump assassinations in AC1, but it’s more involved and is essentially a hidden mechanic that is not tutorialized or fleshed out. The executioner dude from Damascus (i think) has a built in approach that culminates with a flashy opportunity to air assassinate him from over his head

Yeah, I found out about that mechanic by accident. If you aligned yourself precisely with the enemy and jumped at them while hitting the attack button, Altair would kill them but it was a very hard to pull off move.

@@LordSeth-hf8ew it's easy to forget when you're playing, and the poor communication of game mechanics is still a problem, I don't believe the game should hold ypur hand every step you taek, but it should at least make you aware of game mechanics existing and how they work without needing a list of shit they arbitrarily decide to not tell you about so you can actually make use your full arsenal of moves conciously when the time is right.

Actually the bribe mechanic is much better once you realize that after doing the bribe, you can pickpocket the money you spent (and then some) for only a small increase in notoriety. It's quicker than tearing down two posters and you profit this way.

With new techniques, hay bale and ledge assassinations, there are high profile alternatives. The hay bale one you jump out and assassinate, don't know how this could be useful. With the ledge you jump up and kill them on the roof, useful if you dont want to alert people below.

you know, with that point of ezio apparently knowing where are the tombs are all of the sudden, we see la volpe dissapear so that means the animus skipped forward a little, maybe ezio asked la volpe to find switches like that

Fighting with a Pope that doesn't care about being a head of a church fist to fist is so stupid that it's really enjoyable. Especially with the music that plays during it! A techno remix of Ave Maria prayer during a fight with a freaking Pope. That's something that you'd see only in an AC game lol Also I really hate that when you get notorious meter to 100 in Rome then it still changes the soundtrack for Notorious theme. You can easly miss out some pretty climatic ost during this mission thanks to that :(

There are actually a bunch of scenes where sound effects are missing. So I took the liberty of adding them when they're supposed to happen. For that scene, I felt fart with reverb made this particular scene more impactful.

I got through 40 mins of this video but man you really don't need to force moment to moment humor. It really takes away from your video and I feel like it adds 8 mins of unnecessary fluff. ​@@yodaddyrc1220 Brotherhood was ok gameplay wise for most of the game, it started to become a slog by the end, the tailing missions became trivial once you know that you can just follow from the rooftops without too much issues. I played revelations just to finish Ezio's storyline, not sure I would have finished it if it was a different character. Probably for me it was because I played it back to back and I got fatigued by the mechanics by the time I got to revelations, only thing I enjoyed from revelations was the smoke & caltrop combo to deal with the group of enemies. So in summary, I love the story but I find the gameplay a slog to go through.

It’s just I might have a high tolerance for tailing missions and cookie cutter gameplay, cuz when I get to revelations I still find enjoyment cuz it’s basically brotherhoods mechanics and I loved them in that game. Do you think assassins hear a trumpet playing whenever they go out to do contracts? I could've sworn I heard it pretty clearly when Ezio took on the Templars, but especially when he stabbed Uberto. Not that I could really blame him for such brutality. This is a secret war, after all.

I feel like 2 was a massive improvement over 1 in every way, but I still feel like the gameplay needed some fixing, fighting enemies became a chore after awhile and those dlc chapters went on WAYYYY too long and in the Ezio Collection its built right into the main game. That being said, I believe that the story in AC2 is the best before they kind of rebooted the series (haven't played past unity) Ezio is amazing and seeing his growth is super rewarding

The AC1 fighting techniques you forgot to mention before are taught to you in training right after Altair gets the skill. I ignored these back in the day but in my recent replay I payed attention and it broadens the scope of combat in AC1. It might be my new favorite AC combat system but i don't want to jump the gun with it being so new to me.

I understand why Giovanni and Federico were sent to the gallows. They were Assassins. But why Pettrucio? He had to be what 12, 13? He was a child. What was the just cause of his murder? I just finished AC2....and i dont know what to think....it was good, but not great. Definitely not the best in the series like many people say....on to brotherhood i guess. I definitely enjoyed AC2, but its still s mixed bad...i think black flag is a better designed game. For many reasons....but AC2 was definitely good. It kept my attention til the end, so thet says something. Controls are janky, the combat has alot to ne desired....and you cant blame the age ..i beat jt when it released as well. And i had the same thoughts back then...but im ready for brotherhood and then revelations. All in all, good game... but not perfect by any means. Far from it

Im pretty sure they explained the mask for the carnival is used as a pass into the event where the target is not just used for a disguise. That’s why we needed to compete for it. I may be misremembering but I played the hell out of this game.

The reason Rodrigo walks away after stabbing Ezio is because it was actually a lethal hit, but the armour of Altair saves him. Of course this makes no sense if you don't bother collecting all the seals.
