Desmond's story was great in AC1, AC2 and ACB. He starts as an unknown guy held captive and develops more personality as wew get to know him. Felt there was character development between Desmond, Shaun, Rebecca and Lucy. It felt like it was building to something epic. Then they kill Lucy, the best side character and then AC3 ends so anti climaticly, like it was all for nothing. They could have added romance between Desmond and Lucy, a deeper character exploration (not through contrived audio logs he left behind) and an assassins creed game where Desmond is the main character who has his ancestor's abilities and can use the bleeding effect to pass through historical eras briefly. He is voiced by Nolan North after all who plays the charming Nathan Drake. So much wasted potential. Now the story is a bunch of convoluted nonsense that doesn't know what its doing. Don't introduce a character like Desmond as central to everything and then not commit to it.

The problem was that AC2 and ACB were supposed to be one game, or at least pieces of ACB were supposed to be part of 2, but then due to time they cut it out and saved it for ACB. That created a conflict for Kristen Bell, as she only signed on to be in 3 games and since ACB ended up being its own game, that ended up being game #3. So, she tried to renegotiate her contract for Revelations onward, but they said no to her requests, and cut her loose (which is when they then decided to add it as part of 16's Truth and why they had Desmond kill her. The final piece of this calamity is that people were getting sick of the modern story. Idk why, i thought it was decent. But people just wanted to start their game up and play the historical aspects from the get go. So thats why in 3, they kill HIM off. And now people are saying they miss Desmond. Be careful what you wish for.

I don’t even understand why they even bothered to do a modern day in the titles after AC3. The player can tell that the developers have no interest in bringing a long term story to the games anymore. It’s all about jumping from one setting to another. The meaning of the franchise has lost its color.

with the new entries that came out, some of this could finally be answered. could the She Juno was referring to be Layla, the new playable modern character? she has the same skill set as an Assassin and was offered into the Brotherhood by William. and thanks to that Shroud blanket from Syndicate, they could bring Desmond back to life, if they wanted. now as for the Sixth... that one is a thinker. could it be a sixth temple she wants them to find to give her a physical body? or a special Piece of Eden with that 'special' nickname? or maybe a Sixth Precursor to be awoken/met? We've met four: Minerva, Juno, Jupiter, and the reincarnations of the Sage, so... two more left to introduce, maybe? ugh, or could just be the writers that came after Revelations dropped those plot points all together.
