I disagree. Brotherhood is extremly lacklustre: The Story in Brotherhood has 3 main problems, Desmond and crew barely do anything for 90% of it despite the premise, Ezio doesn't grow or have any interesting development and the villains have no threat or presence or place. Ceasre is not a well-written main villain. Despite a really strong intro where he establishes his motive, shows his threat level and paints himself as a dick, the game drops all the momentum the very next sequence. Ceasre is absent for most of the game as he's on a campaign. And his people (who are your targets) don't seem to be the most aware. This means that killing his men doesn't feel like you're taking down a warlord. You're just killing targets until the story progresses. Ceasre doesn't even realize his men are dead until he comes back near the end of the game. AC Syndicate had solution for this. The main villain, Starrick, was shown at the end of every sequence reacting to the deaths and preparing a response. It kept his influence present despite his distance and kept him threatening. That doesn't happen in Brotherhood so it doesn't feel like the Borgia are a constant threat the heroes need to watch out for. As for Ezio, What does Ezio really learn or grow to in the game? Sure, he loses Monrergionni, but after that..... nothing. He almost effortlessly rescues Christina from the Castello. He solves Volpe’s and Bartholomew’s problems without really struggling or making a difficult choice. He hardly ever confronts or is ever threatened by Ceasere or his forces. His assassin Brotherhood is seldom in danger. He doesn’t even properly lead his own faction. Machiavelli does all the real running and Ezio just pops in, makes a decision and everything works out. Their only disagreement is whether to trust the people, which Ezio immediately goes off on and it works out instantly. There is no back and forth or Ezio going out his way behind Nicolo's back to make his plan work. In short, Ezio is practically a Mary Sue in Brotherhood. He makes no mistakes. His enemies never get the upper hand on him. His friends instantly trust him and his judgments are always correct. The closest thing to a disagreement between factions he has is when he forbids Claudia from fighting, and then at the end of the game she kills some soldiers so he instantly recruits her. How is that a conflict or ways for him to grow? You could swap Ezio from the beginning of the game with the start and the result would be the same. The character of Machiavelli seals the deal here. He starts Brotherhood angry at Ezio because he let Rodrigo live. Pretty in character with the real life version of the character. He then storms off to Rome. Later when Ezio joins up, he seems to forget his initial anger, and instantly gives Ezio a position of power, takes orders from him, treats him with respect and more. This guy wrote the Fucking Prince in real life. He should be the last person to ever give Ezio any power. And the icing on the cake, the game implies it’s Ezio who Nicole “The best leaders are those who are feared rather than loved by the people” Maciavelli wrote his books on. Like, you can’t get more Mary Sue than actual historical characters changing their core beliefs on a dime because you’re just so gosh darn “likeable”. The gameplay is also boring. Combat is the same counter kill and its brain dead. Different weapons hardly make a difference. Stealth is rigid and simplistic. The Eastern and Southers parts of the map have very little to parkour through. The Brotherhood and buildings are an afterthought Compare this to Ody where different weapons have different roles, stealth is way more refined and varied and you have so many abilities and combat actually has different ways to succeed in. Fraser Souris I disagree with your reasoning for 2 reasons: Reason 1: What you wrote was a copied reply you send to other comments that praised the game, so it pretty obvious that you feel the need to say that they’re wrong and mostly likely got your points directly from the link you posted, which means you haven’t even played the game or you just don’t have an your opinion on the game. Reason 2: the way you “wrote” these replies makes it seems as if you yourself are a game journalist with specific problems with it, and you cited your work and used examples from in game, so you either loved doing those old middle school presentations or those high schools papers with the way that you feel the need to use examples and cite your research you got from a single website or you just Control+C Control+Ved from a website.

Fraser Souris Holy Shit I just reread this shit and realized. THIS IS JUST AN ARTICLE THAT SUCKS OFF ODYSSEY BY SHITTING ON THE OLD GAMES!! Really odyssey, that’s what you saying is better and the article is dead wrong, “Desmond and the crew did nothing for 90% of the game” wtf, for someone who claimed to play AC 2, that’s dumb to say, they go to the old Manor, sneak in to the old passageways, then you look around the new modernized place while connecting power and considering you just played the intro before and looked around, it supposed to make you think, it now has light poles, and constructed buildings, but the blacksmith, tailor, and the doctor are all gone. And then in the end find the Apple of Eden after exploring this old alien like technology, and killing your love interest starting from AC 2 after being controlled by the power of the apple. This guy doesn’t understand how to play the game correctly, he mostly likely rarely got full synchronization, especially on the mission for saving Caterina, it was a stealth mission, he probably killed everyone by just countering and complained when leaving “literally everyone is dead, how this supposed to hard?!!?” And complains about how Ezio doesn’t do his role as the leader of the brotherhood? He recruits them specifically after saving them, he sends them on missions to improve their abilities and loosen Templar control over other cities he can’t personally go to as he still trying to hunt and kill the main enemy of the story, promotes each of them himself, sends them to kill and assassinate when needed, uses them for arrow storms, and even personally preform the ritual to promote a Master Assassin as he was earlier in the game. But he shouldn’t be the leader right? The only thing I can think of he didn’t do was pay for the hideouts or the overall finances, so if Ezio had a tax mini game it would be fair to say he was the leader right? And Odyssey, welp that a mess, “stealth is way more refined and varied” I’m sorry were talking about Odyssey right? The game that actually has hiding in a bush where half or so of your body hanging out with none the wiser as “refined” atleast Brotherhood full hid you in hay so that problem wouldn’t arise, and really talking about realism and the game that’s better is where Leonidas, a real person, is apparently magical and has a magical spearhead that gives the player magic powers makes sense? Or the easy to point out the laziest of AC O as in AC B , you have 3 ways assassins attack in stealth, the back of the spine, the front in the heart, or in the air in the neck, all spots that can easily kill somebody if stabbed there, AC Ody has 2, if you can kill them, in the neck, if not, it’s in the side, instead of doing that, why not, idk, just always stab there neck to kill them every time? If we care about realism, almost no human can get violently stabbed in the neck and survive, especially in Ancient Greece, you were basically dead, so why not always do it? Side note: Having a small Cult in masks they stole from the local Amphitheater as the “Big Badies” isn’t as powerful and hopeless as a giant secret organization that been in power for centuries, that even controls the Pope aka the entire clergy, just saying, it sounds really dumb.

yeah the ezio games are amazing. and that's a good enough excuse to play through them again. I've re-beaten AC2 on PC, and AC Brotherhood on PC, I'm planning to do revelations on PC next, it's sad the Ezio Collection isn't on PC, but that's okay, the original PC versions are good enough, except for Brotherhood, you need to do save modifications to unlock the medici cape and Venation cape.

I started playing the franchise when I saw the TV spot, so many options to kill someone: swords, daggers, hidden blades, poison, arrows, axes, long swords, other heavy weapons like hammers, spears... story was great enough for me, and multiplayer was such a good idea. only bad thing imo is the way too easy combat system with the infinite kill chain
@bloodymares
@bloodymares 4 жыл бұрын
That's the point. Why should it be hard? You're a master assassin, killing is an art to you. That's like complaining that Batman Arkham combat is easy but nobody is saying that because it's freaking BATMAN. The combat goal is to be as cinematic and cool looking as possible. No damage, continuous combo flow, making it look as stylish as possible with variety by using different weapons and moves. People have no right to complain that the combat is too easy if they're using medicine during combat encounters and don't bother to maintain a continuous kill chain.

"He must have come back way after the villa attack...but why?" Uhhhh, good question. Besides the three numbers (and how did he know Desmond would find them?), why did Ezio go back there? Is there ever any explanation for why he did that or why it was even raised as an issue by Desmond since there actually is no reason for him to do this except to leave a clue as to where he buried the Apple?

The way they introduced side quests in Brotherhood was phenomenal. Each one developed the city of Rome. You can also upgrade the city. It felt like they emphasized on the gameplay with so many tiny details even more than that of AC2. It easily is the best game of the Ezio Collection for me.

Brotherhood is the first AC game I played, and I am just done with AC4 and am starting Rouge, and I must say that brotherhood’s combat, parkour and stealth missions are all MUCH more fun that the others’ I’ve played. I really enjoyed having the virtual training too, as it really teaches you a lot about the complexities of the game. It’s a shame the parkour and combat was dumbed down so badly in 4 and Rouge. In my opinion, this is the AC game that I’m most likely to replay again, as it is by far the best. (I have only played 1, 2, Bh, 4 and Rouge though)

@@humanbeing4492 No they are not. They just cram everything into 1 package thinking it makes it appealing but it doesnt. Half arsed stealth, half arsed combat, half arsed rpg mechanics, half arsed parkour ETC.. They are making a stealth game, but also an action game, also a viking rpg and ofc it is also an assassins creed game. Take any singular gameplay aspect and look at it alone, it is base level. Every single part. Ubisoft logic is: Stealth is 2/10, combat is 2/10, roleplay is 2/10 and platforming is 2/10. Put that together and you get a solid 8/10 ubisoft game.
