I disagree. The pirating gameplay was extremly lacking Most of it was carried over from 3 as is. It worked in 3 because it was used as the occasional mission. 4 doesn’t add enough to justify a fancy side activity now being 60% of the game. You fight the same, do the same things as you did in 3 now more often rather than expanded. Very little of the exploration or activities are better now that the player can sail. In fact, getting collectibles is much more tedious. Remember horses in Skyrim? It would be like if the next Elder Scrolls game required the player to ride horses like that for 60% of the game with the remaining on foot being as good as it ever was. Rogue somewhat improves on 4 by adding icebergs. Ody somewhat improves on both’s approach by at least making it more seamless and adding more than just collectibles to find.

The story and environment and things to do is so powerfull it just dragged me into the witcher world! Bro when you are beginning and you are in white orchard do side quests first! It Will help you with experience and so on! Also, Watch KZbin video’s. There is a video on KZbin called “how to play witcher without giving up” or something like that. I Will guarantee you bro. @@bruschetta7711 thats the thing. Although a mainly fictional game ubisoft pays attention to real life events. And with blackbeard's death although sad its accurate. Well, to a degree. He was executed in north Carolina not the Bahamas but the timeline in which he died is accurate. James kidd is purely fictional apart from the use of the name "kidd". Fun fact if you sail around i believe Nassau you can find the real captain Kidd's ship the Adventure Galley. And there's one random event were it was on the brink of sinking off the coast of Havana which is in fact accurate. The Adventure Galley was beached by Kidd off the coast of Havana and packed with explosives which kidd detonated. The amount of detail yet imagination ubisoft puts into the assassins creed series is truly incredible

I actually just finished the story again for the first time since the initial release, and I had so much fun. It’s such a shame we never got a Black Flag 2, I loved the gameplay and Edward is such a phenomenal character, he deserved a sequel. Imagine another Black Flag but with the current features of seamless underwater and land exploration like in Odyssey, it’d be glorious. I know Ubisoft are releasing that new “Skull and Bones” game, but a game purely based around ship combat without the land exploration, boarding of ships, and duelling, it’s just not that interesting. Ubisoft really could’ve had a successful new IP on their hands if they did all that.

His story was finished when we saw he daughter all grown up and him raising haytham. His ending was bitter sweet and we shouldn't dig up his grave just to fill a nostalgic void.

If you want to know the truth about what happened to "Assassin's Creed", read this please : During the development of AC Brotherhood, Ubisoft approached Patrice Desilets (the maker of AC and a worker at UBI since PoP 1) to demand yearly releases for AC since it was selling very well (10m copies AC1 - PoP 3m) Patrice, working in Gaming out of passion and not greed, refused. The result was that they fired him after 20 years of work.Every other AC that came after AC Brotherhood felt "different" or "lacking" something and that's SOUL, that's what it's lacking. Patrice went on to his own studio, working on a spiritual successor to AC called 1666: Amsterdam (there is a YT trailer) but guess what happened, UBI bought his studio and acquired the IP then fired Desilets. It was a threat to AC since it was made by the man who brought their cash cow to life. It took years of legal battle to get the assets back but now they are outdated and UBI has sunk its teeth too deep in AC's neck to change anything about it. AC 3, AC 4, ROGUE, UNITY etc, they're NOT CANON. They're either spin offs or shadows of the true AC. Before you say that it's just an opinion, the ORIGINAL author was fired. Imagine Game Of Thrones without George RR Martin. How would that be? Oh wait no need to imagine, just go watch the show post George's direction. It's being called bad fanfiction, that's what AC post Ezio is, FANFICTION. The original author was ousted, with him went Jasper Kyd, Jade Raymond and so on. Every other AC that came after Rev was an amateur chef trying to replicate the recipe as right possible. Yet they all miss the point, it's not about the profit or the rentability it's about the process, the passion, and that is gone with Desilets. The newer games under the AC name can, in fact, be good but it's no longer AC, they should just rename it to something else. Notice the difference when someone is passionate about a project and someone is just milking it without any true consideration: AC Unity could have been the greatest AC ever; yes, the greatest. I hated Connor and AC 3 but I admit he was badass and speaking of which remember how Lafayette invited Connor to Paris? Lafayette WAS in Paris during Unity; imagine Arno vs Connor or Arno WITH Connor going to face off against Shay's Templars (since Shay was an old sack of bones by then) Buuuut, nah, they missed that opportunity. Assassin's Creed is nothing but a waste of potential.

I genuinely can’t put into words how much I love this game. It was one of my first ever proper gaming experiences and I’d always loved pirates. The combat may be just a teensy (emphasis on teensy) bit easy but that honestly made me feel like a god so I didn’t care. I thought no one remembered this game and didn’t experience its 100s of hours of fun (if you 100% it like my nerdy ass) so it brings me joy to see that there are still people that remember and enjoy the game that brings me nostalgia like few others.

I actually just started playing the older games since I loved Odyssey so much and was informed of the franchises history and how much I would appreciate some of the older titles. I have to admit, I played it for like an hour. And I was like... ehhhh I don't get it. Then after about a month I tried to get into it again. Now I am hooked. I am surprised how well a game of this age holds up. I have had a LOT of fun playing it. If I had a complaint? Still trying to figure out how a drunkard bum wanna be pirate with no training is such a remarkable assassin. But outside of that, can't wait to keep playing it some more. I just got to Nassau but I have done a ton of side quest type deals to get more comfortable with the controls and all. Really impressed so far. I'm told it gets better.

I can't help but appreciate the fact you show Aiden after the french dude. I don't even know if you know but Aiden kills that guy in a mission you get to play in Watchdogs. Heck if you profile the body it says he's wanted by the Brotherhood. Whether you knew the joke or not, you made it. Good on ya lad. Oh and quality work as always. Favorite game ever. Got me back into Assassin’s Creed. And it still breaks my heart that Stede Bonnett the gentlemen pirate was hanged OFF SCREEN. It really sucks that he died off screen making his appearance at the end really shocking. Also still breaks my heart that Edward bad to either see his comrades become Templars and have to kill them or in Charles Vane’s case, kill him out of self defense. Having to watch Blackbeard die still hurts, man. “In a world without gold, we could’ve been heroes!” That line still shakes me because it’s true.

I'm going to be real with everyone. I played AC 3 when it came out and I was like - this is great! Then I played AC 4 and it didn't hit me until 8:48 in the game that Edward was related to Haytham and Connor. My brain basically exploded. Black Flag is my favourite game out of the franchise.

I'm aware that every individual has their own taste in games but the AC series is one of those that i do not care for. When the very first AC came out, it was so hyped and the commercial was so deceptive. They made it looked as though it was the greatest RPG action ever. It was the equivalent of "Ninja Gaiden" or something. So, I gave it a try...about 1 hr into it, I learned something that day. I've learned that walking around in the game pressing buttons to interact with NPC's..and jumping from rooftops into a bale of hay is less impressive than watching my dad's paint thinner dry in the garage.

6:20 He is literally called Stede Bonnet, who became a pirate later and was a member if Blackbeards Crew. First he was the Captain but he was not compitent for this job, so he got a "guest". Which probably meant, he is a prisoner of Blackbeard. Just read it, and this is really interesting, cause he often said in the game, he would like to go on adventures and be a pirate n so on. And that's what he literally became. He was called the "Gentleman-Pirate", which I think, fits to him. I want to assume again, he really is called Stede :D

This was my very first Assassin's Creed game. Which I initially played as I was feeling bitter that Disney cancelled their open world Pirates of the Caribbean game, that would've been LIKE Assassin's Creed, but with a morality system like Star Wars: KOTOR.

I cant decide which I like more, Black Flag or Odyssey BF Pros: Matt Ryan as Edward Kenway- need I saw more? Pirates- I adore pirates, And yes I am about to admit to something, I did play fortnite(as we probably all) but really only season 8 because of the pirates. I used to land every time at the pirate ship and town because it reminded me of Black Flag. While I was in the town I would role play, play the BF soundtrack and everything. BF is the entire reason I bought Sea of Thieves and I regret nothing. story line - I cant say I understood the story line because this was like 4 years ago but I do remember it being amazing. I loved the characters, the music, the quests, the everything, going to Africa (if my memory serves correctly) Amazing characters (James Kidd/Mary Reed, Stede Bonnet, Blackbeard) & more Exploration - I loved hopping off my ship onto some random island and exploring it was the joy of the game. tbh I spent more time exploring random islands and murdering guards then actually doing story line. (Im sure lots of people agree with this statement) I mostly ignored exploring underwater because I have a fear of sharks but Im sure lots more awaited down under. Music and Aesthetics- I have always thought that no matter how bad the game is, if it has a spectacular sound track it is good. BF soundtrack did an amazing job putting me in a pirates life. The sounds of the waves crashing into the sides of the Jackdaw made me feel like I was out on the roaring seas. (and lets all be honest the main reason gamers love open world games is because it makes us feel like were outside from the comfort of our couches) BF Cons: Ending- to this day I still dont understand what happened at the end of the game when you find Torres in the cave Simulation- I dont care whats happening in the real world, I just wanted to play as a pirate. Speaking of that, I did ignore all of the real world storyline and mostly just clicked A. I probably would have understood the simulation story line more. RPG- I have always preferred open world RPGs like Skyrim, Fallout, or The Witcher, and while having lots of freedom I felt that, “oh you cant kill that guy because of this or you cant do this until you talk to that guy.” I would much rather have a situation where you can kill that guy and every quest with him is broken. Civilians- I know this might sound cynical but all I wanted to do was to murder civilians. They got in my way, stopped me from fleeing from countless guards, and just overall annoyed me. Every time I wanted to murder people it said, “this ancestor didn't kill civilians blah blah blah” RPG feel-more variety in weapons like in Odyssey Odyssey Pros: RPG feel- I feel that this one is kinda obvious but Odyssey did an amazing job with creating an open world. I loved exploring Ubisoft's version of Ancient Greece. Obviously the map isnt exactly the same to make it more playable but still it was surprisingly accurate and it reminded me of Boston in Fallout 4 and Paris in Unity. Greek Mythology/History/Architecture- After just learning about Greek Civilization in History class, I loved opening, where you play as Leonidas at the Battle of Thermopylae is awesome. Also being a history geek I would constantly point out mishaps and false facts while playing. For instance when fighting a Athenian triremes I constantly said that my pathetic ship would get destroyed by the might of the Athenian navy and obviously any Athenian foot soldier who fought Spartans would not stand a chance. I basically just thought of so many historical things while playing this game. Aesthetics- Odyssey has to be one of the most aesthetically pleasing games that I have played. When I arrived at the island Skyros and went to the synchronization view point I was pleasantly surprised. Looking out onto the water from the temple was one of the most beautiful parts of the game for me. Storyline- Now to be honest, I havent finished the game yet seeing how I just started less then a week ago. I just upgraded the Spear of Leonidas for the first time in the Ancient Forge. But so far I am pleased with what I see. I love the cult of Kosmos and I love their music and story. Odyssey Cons: Quests- Dont get me wrong I loved having side quests with Main quests, but when my quest book got bombarded with quests that Im not even high enough level to do. Like some of the cultist assassinations that are meant for level 50s or 45s or whatever. The constant exclamation marks, in games like Odyssey where the player gets a little ping when we get a new quest I feel the need to always make sure that there were none. So if I got a new item, or discovered a new mercenary, or got a clue for a cultist, I would go into my inventory and clear it, no matter what. Arrow supply and demand- I know that your could craft arrows but seriously just let us buy them Conclusion- There are certain aspects that I love from both games. From Odyssey the greek theme with history and architecture but compared to pirates I would have to say that so far I have been liking Odyssey more. But, Black flag will always have a special place being the first AC game I ever played and it will come second in my AC list, Odyssey being first out of 2. (Yes... I have only played Black Flag and Odyssey) If you read this entire thing then good job. Fun fact: The bloke, S T E D E at the beginning... he actually becomes a legit pirate. I have no idea if he ever returns in game (I keep getting set back bc of the lack of cloud saves), but he actually gets hung historically. Black Flag is currently the best AC game, I enjoyed the historically accurate worlds/stories of the old games, for example black flag including Black Beard and other pirates who were real people, but then with origins and odyssey (pretty good games) they added the whole, oooooooo magical creatures, GOTTA KILL EM, aspect to the game, which just doesnt work with AC in my opinion

I liked AC Odyssey a lot, but I loved the previous games way more. People complained that Edward was a pirate but Odyssey crossed the line. I liked the game for the story but it was a personal story and not about the brotherhood at all, which is the problem with Odyssey.
