6:24 NO WAY, that Leonardo’s Slavator Mundi in his office. For anyone who doesn’t know, when Leonardo Da Vinci died in 1519, he left his villa and vineyard to Salai, so that he could raise his family there. But Leonardo also left his 2 personal paintings to Salai as well, which were the Mona Lisa, and Salvator Mundi. But Ezio having the paintings implies that in the AC universe, Leonardo gave Ezio the villa and vinyard instead, so Ezio could raise his family there.

My interpretation of the man on the bench: I don't think anyone can argue that he isn't a Templar or a Templar-in-training. He has the symbol on his vambrace, painted in red. Not only that, but I think Ezio sees the symbol before he sits down next to him. It is, after all, right in his line of view. That's probably why Ezio's face shows concern the moment he takes a seat. Now, if we look at the man, we see he's almost a mirror image of Ezio, with obvious similarities. They both have a scar on their mouth, but it's on opposite sides. They both have the same eye colour. They both have the same indented cheeks. They're even the exact same height. This means that the man, similar to Ezio in his youth, is, in a sense, Templar Ezio. What Ezio could have become at one point. In essence, he represents the never-ending conflict between the Assassins and Templars, as well as Ezio's inner turmoil, because to him there are only Assassin's and Templars. He has no chance to live an ordinary life, nor does anyone who gets involved with the centuries old war. It's almost heartbreaking, really, because despite everything Ezio's done, the Templars are still a force to be reckoned with, and they never stopped hunting him. Now listen to the conversation. The mysterious man says he hates Firenze, and that he'd rather be in Rome, where the women are like "grapes in a fine wine". Ezio owns a grape farm, but as he tells Shao Jun, the grapes aren't ripe yet. This leads me to believe that the man knows where Ezio lives, but he's also saying, in a round about way, that he has no interest in his wife and daughter. They're not "ripe", they're not his targets. Ezio doesn't quite understand, but recognises that the man is a Templar. He says, "I don't think Firenze is your problem." This is definitely where his heart attack hits, but if you look closely, you can see he leans towards his blade, as if to say, "I'M your problem." Whether he's reaching for it or simply keeling over is certainly open to interpretation, but it makes the next part more sensible. The man stops Ezio and says, "Courage, old man." With this small gesture, he indicates that they don't have to fight. To me, this scene really stings, because it shows that Ezio has been fighting for so long it's become his default. He seems shocked when the man smiles and nods to him. I think he knew Ezio was sick. I think he'd been observing him and waiting for the right moment to strike, but he didn't want to do it callously. After all, Templars and Assassins ultimately want the same thing: peace. Not all of them are wicked and soulless. Just before the man leaves, you can hear a metallic sound as he puts his hand on Ezio's shoulder. I replayed it a few times with the volume maxed, and it kind of sounds like a puncture. He tells Ezio to rest, almost like "requiescant in pace", and walks away. I think he might have injected Ezio with a fast-acting poison, which explains why Ezio's pain suddenly vanished. Heart attacks are extremely painful and don't normally kill someone that quickly, but right after the man leaves, Ezio smiles to his family and slips away on the bench. In his final speech, addressed to his wife, he doesn't reveal anything about the Assassins, so we can rest assured they'll be safe. All his life and all throughout the episode that's what he feared, that his past would come back to haunt him. But in this final moment, we see that the Templars will leave his family in peace. (Not my comment but I think it deserves to be read on the page of its source as it's brilliant.)

He says 'I don't think Firenze is your problem'; what he meant is your attitude towards the city and life is what's making you unhappy. The real change has to come from within. Just my two cents
@alexios98482 жыл бұрын
I thought the same. Could be. Others say he is indeed a templat but honestly why they felt the sudden need to end him in the first place? He's just a tired old man. Harmless. Templars have a code and despite him being an enemy of the templars who had previously killed hundreds of them, it doesn't really justify a sudden attempt to his life, considering that templars in Italy couldn't have been so many, maybe just some spared groups we don't know for sure. Still, open to interpretation
@KnightOfAwesometon2 жыл бұрын
@@alexios9848 I think it, funnily enough, has nothing to do with a "need" to eliminate Ezio, threat or not. It's about the message. Ezio is one of the most prolific Assassin's ever and, to the Templars, comparable to that of a war criminal. When he is suddenly discovered, it's an oppotunity that can't be missed. To be able to say that, in the end and after so long, the Templar Order was still able to overcome and kill Ezio Auditore sends the message that there is no escape for Assassins. That's just my opinion, at least.
@RoadWulf2 жыл бұрын
He could easily be real. I see it like this. Ezio gets old, he leaves the Assassin's, the Templars know this and just let him be. It's better to just let him live out his days than to continue to have Ezio Auditore as a continued enemy. However, because of Jun, he gets involved in Assassin and Templar affairs at the end. A decision is made, he can't be allowed to keep influencing the next generation, but since he's old and dying they do it in a simple way. A contact poison. The young man simply walks up to him, does what needs to be done and tells Ezio to have courage. Ezio's knowing eyes, the realization and acceptance as the young man simply smiles and nods to confirm that Ezio is already dead. Much in the way Ezio would comfort his kills before their passing. "Get some rest" (in peace). Then the young man walks away. Ezio knows his time is almost up, he takes one last look at his wife and daughter with a knowing smile on his face and exhales for the last time.

So many hidden messages are shown in this movie which has been highlighted throughout Ezio's life. The guy at the end was a resemblance to Ezio himself in the past, he can supposedly be a Templar sent to kill Ezio but noticing he is on his last breath he left him in peace to die with his loved ones, it can be understood by Ezio's reaction that shows a hint of realization that then a simple nod to agree to Ezio's thoughts. Also, Ezio's death perfectly creates a contrast between his life life and end. His entire life he spend in shadows after becoming an assassin but died in the bright sun facing the light.

I can't help but feel like Logan took some inspiration from this. The idea, the way it was structured, while different in many ways, similar in some ways. Retired assassin who spent most of his life fighting and killing, now retreated somewhere hidden from society to live out the rest of his life, but this peace is interrupted with the appearance of a young girl who would soon after carry on his legacy, and he must once again fight and kill, despite his tired old body not being up for it anymore. Nevertheless the ending of both were sad and marked our farewell to these beloved characters. Requiescat in pace, Mentore.

Man said "no" to all knowledge in the world just to be with one girl he loves. At the end it pays out, he passes away peacefully, his family is safe, he has a new successor... What is interesting to me is that Altair took the opportunity to learn the knowledge that Apple of Eden offered, and it kinda ruined his life, with all the loss of friends, wife, even the sons in some way. But he still passed away peacefully just like Ezio. I see it as that some people who have been offered the same thing will have same ending, but they can choose with who to spend that time: with your loved ones or for a greater good. I grew up with these games, and they will always have special place in my hearth ❤️

The legendary Ezio Auditore da Firenze. Cradle to grave, we know him, grew up with him, lived with him, struggled with him, and were there with him when he died. He lived a troubled life, having lost much of his family. Hate, hate can keep a man warm, and it kept him moving forward. He was not without his moments either, for while most grey clouds can have a silver lining, one might say Ezio's flame burned gold. He enjoyed many good years after retiring from the order, able to raise two children, and spend his time with Sofia, without much concern or worry. For all the darkness that followed him, it made the light that remained, that much brighter. Now, we must say our farewells, and be thankful that he was able to live such a charmed life, even with what troubles he had. He became an agent of justice, working in the darkness that he might serve the light. Blessed be that he had a family, and those who were there with him when it all happened, unlike the many broken souls he placed face down into the dirt. Requiescat in pace, and remember always. Nothing is true; everything is permitted.

A small thing on Embers, as Italian I find incredible that no one in QA realized that there are two mistakes in the final speech: "... and love, most especially, mio caro..". Well, "mio caro" means "my dear" but refers to a male, he is referring to Sofia so he should have said "mia cara" , as it is in the Italian dubbed version. I know that Shao Yun already got a game in Assassins Creed Chronicles China, but I would love to see them give her a proper return to form game. In fact I believe she might even be deserving of a trilogy, giving us more informaion about her and her mentor, showing us what we may not have seen in embers, how she reacted to Ezio's passing, maybe even the man on the bench, and I would love to see what was in that box , maybe a feather. The kind Ezio collected for his brother. The restoration of the chinese order and whatever comes after that, as well as a modern day like the original games had. I don't read the comics so I'm not too familiar with Desmond's son, but bringing him along and saying that he's a descendant of Shao Yun perhaps from his mother's side seems like phenomenal fanservice to me, since they are both the next generation for Ezio and Desmond. Ubisoft even has a gimmick already in play with Shao Yun, her foot blade. All in all, I just think that a full blown Shao Yun Assassin's Creed has great potential and would be well received.

I just realized that Ezio's actual last words are "I don't think Firenze is your problem." but the actual last words that will be remembered from Ezio is what he said to Sofia which is "I am home."

AC was something typically everyone has touched, but me. At least until a couple months ago I decided to buy the Ezio collection. I was far from disappointed. Ubisoft did an excellent job in engaging the audience with the main character, literally watching Ezio grow from his first breath to his last. It’s almost as if you grew up with him.

This movie alone won’t tell you just how skilled and deadly assassin shao jun is in her own game. It’s no surprise that she was trained by ezio.

I love the theory that the young man in the end was a Templar sent to kill Ezio, but he chooses to let him Die naturally, seeing as he was already there to begin with. The respect he gained from both sides cannot be ignored and the young man knows it. He let him die on his terms are of sheer respect for an enemy.

I think he is sort of a grim reaper look at that smile of him I think he wanted to say it's time and he left because he wanted to let him see his family for the last time

@@soltagaming4325 That works just as good, agreed. Hell, he could be the reaper imitating a young Ezio as well.

I like the theory of it just being a hallucination of ezio's past, a mirror to who he was. A last moment of doubt before finally accepting that it was time to move on. To go back to his family. To finally rest in peace

And just like that I am left, yet again, emotionally overwhelmed by Assassins Creed. There's just something so wonderfully esoteric in the series - Honour, being noble, sacrifice.... Esoteric because in our times these concepts feel abjectly abstract.
