Man, they really outdid themselves with this Initiates project. Kudos to you Ubisoft.

It's Animus 1.28, after all. 2.0 changed quite a bit from it's original version to 2.03 so the jump from 1.0 to 1.28 must have been drastic.

The Animus were the human 3.0 in the trajectory envisioned by Anu to support his infinite supremacy over humanity. His goal was to synthesize humanity with technology. The Animus were us in a potential future. There are government organizations, corporate entities and research institutions that share this same goal even as we speak.” Lol look it up

Not sure if AC3 takes place before the game's release. ACB ended on October 10th, 72 days before the End of the World. And we do not know how much time has passed in ACR. There might be a large time skip to November or even December. Who knows...

Where? if he said so pre AC3, then it might be a retcon, as the location is definitely Rome in AC3.

which is complete and total bullshit, but makes for a good fantasy plot-hook. IRL, genetic memory is the instincts coded into lower life forms. How does a mouse, snake or beetle know complex hunting patterns when it has no parents to teach it or it's brain is too small for such things? It comes programmed that way. Higher mammals traded hardware memory for software memory. Genetic memory for personal memory. TLDR: The animus would work better if explained as magic and souls rather than science.

Hahahah... Massive flaw in that logic bud...

@@RTSBEST Care to explain? I may have simplified things a bit, but the only way the animus works is because it's a video game.

@@ambika69 I apologize I'm just seeing this now. The only flaw is believing that we human beings are some sort of living creature superior to others... I don't really see much evidence of that based on our actions. Not only that, but it's like insinuating the concept that we actually have free will, unlike other forms of life, which is just blatantly false. We are just as animalistic as "animals." If you also study certain doctrines of psychology, this concept, similar to the animus, is actually an acceptable concept, not fully as far-fetched or something that could only be seen as "magic" to explain its capabilities. I mean, many of the things we have today, if you took them back just 100 years ago, would easily be considered "magical," such as modern smart phones. You'd be considered a god-like anomaly just for possessing such technology. I'll admit it's a technology I don't think you'll ever see realistically. Let's be honest, I totally agree with you, but this is predominately because I think technology will simply make humanity obsolete before it could even get to a stage such as this, yet I'm still open to the possibility that this could be feasible. It's not that I don't agree with the statement that it's a video game. It's just that the rest of the argument doesn't hold water in regards to being separate from other forms of life. Perhaps I'm wrong in this regard. If you'd care to argue your point further, I'm all for dorky discussions. Either way, I could learn something I didn't know, so I welcome it! Cheers, and you're a pretty cool guy for even being curious about this topic 11 years later. Mad respect! :)

@@RTSBEST I disagree with you on a number of points of philosophy, but that's not really what I was trying to argue here. I'll reiterate though. Simply stated... Genetic Memory Does Not Work That Way. Yes, humans do have genetic memory like most animals, its been studied, but it is Absolutely NOTHING like shown in the game. It gives us a couple of baseline behaviors and instincts; such as a fear of snakes, a love of fruit, some basic social rules and a tendency to make languages; but it does not give us memories of past lives. There has been *some* evidence of past lives, but the lives remembered in the studies, while reportedly highly accurate, were never genetically related to the subject.

@@ambika69 Hey man, thank you for the clarification. I'm not denying at all what you're saying. The way I read this before perhaps was skewed as I normally use KZbin around 3:00 am and I've been sleep deprived as of late. I completely agree with you on this. It's just the entire argument that we are completely in control of our actions, and there are no indications of this not being true that I had an issue with. Everything else is 100%. I don't think it's a feasible/practical reality to create something like this, as I also stated. I just think that technology will make humanity obsolete before it gets to a point like that. Also, once again, as I stated, yes, genetic memory does not work that way based on our understanding of it now. Yet, we don't fully understand how everything in the physical /metaphysical realm, nor have we reached complete technological mastery of everything as of yet. Do I think it's possible based on my understanding of how this works now? It is very unlikely, but who knows what the future will bring, and even if it were, I imagine it would be extremely limited. So no, I'm not saying that it's likely to work, just that I'm not entirely closed off to the possibility. As of the philosophy side of things if you'd like to share fire away!
