In fact, Lucy was killed because Kristen Bell asked for royalties that Ubisoft didn’t want to pay. That’s way the betrayal thing looked so confused and improvised. She was supposed to continue until the end of Desmond’s story.

I noticed that Juno says a line towards the end "Only she remains to be found" and 16 mentions something along the lines of "She, in Eden, find Eve". I just realized when Layla finds "the Reader" towards the end of that cutscene when she joins him, her and Desmond standing in front of the tree is kind of reminiscent of Adam and Eve. Could it be they're still following the plotline just in a way none of us were expecting ?

"there is one who would accompany you through the gate. She lies not within our sight" it has to be Layla, at the end of Valhalla, you meet Desmond (the Reader) & they both stay behind & close the gate. Lucy's Ideology: This is something the writers and developers SHOULD have included in story of The Lost Archive, but for some reason failed to include so I had to fill in the gaps myself: Lucy's perspective makes perfect sense if you know it like I do and think about it logically. Lucy truly understands and believes that Abstergo actually cares about helping people and improving their lives and that the Assassins don't. Think about the ratio of how many percentage of people are helped vs hurt by Abstergo. Of course the Templars logically and justifiably defend themselves against the Assassins out of pure self-defense and self-preservstion, but think about the amount of regular NON-ASSASSIN people they kidnap and expirament on and kill. That number is probably very small compared to the extremely large number of average joe people in society who are never bothered and non-the-wiser. It's just like in FNAF how the amount of people killed by Animatronics is so much fewer than the large number of people that go to the pizzeria everyday and have a normal experience no issues. Abstergo makes thousands of products and medicines and machines that improve people's lives and make everyone's lives easier and more safe and peaceful. She understands that the Assassins are bad because they DON'T actually fight for any greater purpose or benefit to people, they don't care about advancing science and creating medicine and providing technology the way the Templars do. The Assassins don't build companies or establish militaries or create security systems or engage in formal politics. Lucy understands that the Templars are much more like good normal people and the Assassins are truly just insane barbaric anarchists that don't have any goals of improving the world or making people's lives better. The Assassins just kill people that disagree with their Creed and that's it, nothing else. She sees that Abstergo actually fights to improve society and make the world a better place for the masses. This shows the Templar philosophy at it's purest and morally best perspective. The story is really good at constantly going back and forth between showing the good and bad sides of both the Assasins and Templars. They often like to protray the Assassins as the good guys and Templars as bad guys, but I love when they switch it up and show the kind of perspective that really protrays the good side of the Templar's and the bad side of the Assassin's. I love this story so much.

Assassins Creed died after AC3. Should have let Desmond & Lucy live and develop the present day and historical connections around them. I'm not against the idea of Lucy being revealed as a traitor, as it actually explains a certain number of things. The biggest being that Abstergo was slow in finding our heroes in AC2 and only sending men after them without guns. Not to mention that the escape from Abstergo at the beginning of AC2 always felt a little too easy. But the problem with her betrayal is that it wasn't done well or allowed to be revealed naturally. For those who didn't have access to the DLC material in Revelations, the only time the main story ever reveals Lucy's betrayal is in Assassin's Creed 3 and even then, it's done terribly. Desmond just says it and goes on an exposition dump about why he killed Lucy. Revelations should have revealed her betrayal and dived into it, by focusing more on Desmond trying to come to terms with it and hearing the voices of his father, Rebecca, and Shaun talking about it. It's an interesting idea to do with Lucy but killing her off only makes it feel irrelevant, especially with how little focus it gets when it comes to Desmond and the others. I understand that Kristen Bell was asking for more money but they could have changed her appearance through some explanation like one of the Pieces of Eden reshaping her or just changing her physical appearance for the sake of keeping her character. But if they were serious about killing her off, then the needed to do her betrayal reveal far better.

well both sides need the other to exist in order to keep everything balanced, however we play as assassins and tend to look at them as the good people because the thing that people cant stand and fear is to be controlled, im new to the franchise (currently on ac 3) so idk how complex the story gets later, but im looking forward to explore it

@@laithaljibat4108 No spoilers, but AC3 and on is pretty much where the writers start playing with the framing of Assassin's and Templars as 'good vs bad' *From here on, allusions to SPOILERS for the future games including and after 3* I will say though, none really go into the amount of detail that OP goes into, which is disappointing. Because I can totally see Lucy having that perspective and rationalizing that. The only game we primarily play as a Templar failed IMO to justify why our character would be a Templar. We're given a reason to fight against Assassins, but not to join the Templar Order, as their motives and methods at the time directly conflicted with the altruistic perspective the character apparently has. The rational OP gives Lucy, though, does make sense. Working at Abstergo she sees the scope of what they do. And being left on her own, undercover, she'd likely build resentment for the Assassins. We see how twisted the Creed can be in later games, Assassins working under the Creed but using it to justify their own close minded and selfish actions. You put the Creed up to scrutiny and you can poke holes in it easily. The same with Templars, and we always see the evils their tenets allow. But to someone like Lucy, if her goal is just to help people, not so much ensure their free will, you can see how Abstergo and by extension the Templars would look like a better option.

The Thing with Lucy is, that Vidic threatened her, she had a very close friend at Abstergo, Leila Marino, who dies 2007 under very suspicious circumstances, Lucy wanted to investigate the death of her friend but was told by Vidic that she killed herself but warned her that if she dont drop the subject, she would end the same like Leila. With this in mind and the knowledge that almost every employee at Abstergo could vanish or die if he ever rebels against Abstergo, i dont think that Lucy had a chance in the first game. Clay found out about her betrayal and she knew it and talked about it with him, she could easily told Vidic about him beeing an assassin but she didnt and protected him further. Together with all the brainwashing from Abstergo and the Isolation from pretty much anyone outside Abstergo and having no Friends expect other Employees at Abstergo its make sense that someone which studies were rejected by her mentors and was nearly killed by Abstergo and then saved by Vidic would feel torn inside and became greatful for everything Vidic had done for her, he represented pretty much every good thing in Abstergo. Her betrayal was sad but i dont know, if Abstergo and Vidic really had so much gain from it.

Imbedded? Is it really just a coincidence that right as that word was said, the next slide of the embryo came up on screen? I think when Vidic said "imbedded" he could have been referring to Lucy becoming pregnant. I am really on board with the idea that Project Siren was more than just an infiltration mission: if Abstergo wanted Desmond's DNA, sending Lucy to conceive a child by Desmond would benefit the Templars in the long run. Depending on what they wanted, they might not have even seen the baby to full term. Who knows. But the picture of the embryo combined with 16's "slip" and Desmond stabbing Lucy in her stomach/uterus might suggest that Luce was pregnant...on purpose. Even the First Civs were going on about their loins and the loins of their enemy or something in that respect. I know that's probably not what the writers intended...or maybe it was...but this whole thing really had the fandom going for a while! A lot of baby hints were dropped and plenty of shits were given. Desmond might've got lucky after all.

Man, I really didn't mind this twist. It did made some amount of sense - Lucy was alone, the burden of being the mole overwhelmed her, the assassins in their hopes of getting a job done completely abandoned her... it's no wonder she flipped. But the way it was shown... come on, really? One single cutscene [actually not a cutscene, just a collection of photos tied together by a voiceover] and thats it? This had so potential to be a tragic story that Kirsten Bell [or hell, any other actress] would sell really well, this had potential to be something along the lines they've did with the glyphs in AC2 but this time they would be Lucy's leaving a trail of her memories in the Animus for Desmond to find and give him closure before his sacrifice. But... they did it the way it did. And it fucking sucks.

"There is one who may accompany you through the gate. She lies not within our sight." This line doesn't get the discussion it merits. Okay, not Lucy obviously, so who? At the end of AC3 William, Shaun and Rebecca accompany Desmond through the gate, but that's three, not one, and once the key is located and the gate open, they didn't really do anything other than just walk behind Desmond. I guess you can argue that Shaun and Rebecca were needed for Desmond to find the key but I'm not convinced the writers ever had a plan for what to do with this. They built the plot up too big and didn't know where to go, this is a growing practice in modern science fiction.

I think it's Layla actually. At the end of valhalla, The Reader (Desmond) and Layla meet at the Yggdrasil Tree, where the two continued to look through timelines. The writer for Valhalla is the same as the Ezio trilogy, so it wouldn't surprise me if this was always the plan. Or they just realized they could use Layla for that purpose.

Perfect example of how video game companies can ruin a characters love story with it being the potential to be one of the best. Even though I would have liked to see Desmond and Lucy finally get together, I would have preferred if Ezio actually got to have some sort of a happy ending by being with Christina. The man literally loses his 2 brothers and father within the first hour of the Trilogy... Other then Ezio not getting a decent ending it was a great Trilogy, but screwing up them 2 romances prevents me from saying it was perfect. The last 2 perfect games I played was Ghost of Tsushima & Days Gone. Both stories are excellent from start to finish.

Clay saying its "too late to save them" is basically the same thing Minerva says in AC3, so his talk of "DNA" & "Eve" must've been warning Desmond about something Whey does Juno say "only she remains to be found" and "Go Alone!", neither of which ever happened in AC3? This doesn't make much sense, unless Desmond's consciousness is still alive somewhere & has yet to do those things.. to "find Eve"? If all this really is done & over with, Ubisoft really did a horrible job of wrapping it all up

kappy0405 Idiot they were referring to a modern descendant of eve other than Clay and Desmond. They talked about the descendant and how it could open the gate to Eden, meaning something in there could stop juno, however it is already too late as the Catastrophe distracted them from the threat of Juno. Just because you are stupid, doesn't mean it makes no sense. Besides they don't need Desmond for this task, they could continue the story without him and he is one of the most hated characters in the beginning. Go away moron, no one needs you here in a intellectual franchise.

kappy0405 I think when clay says to find Eve in Eden he’s talking about the temple where Desmond dies in AC3. Its basically the remains of Eden from the first civ before the Toba catastrophe but I also think Minerva left something there to do with “Eve” maybe a cube with her preserved DNA like the ones found in the Observatory that Desmond was to relive and find something out but like Juno says in AC3 she threw the things Minerva left for them into the chasm in the temple before she ruined their plans. As stupid as it sounds, Eve’s conscience could actually have originally been in the temple but Juno took over it locked her away in The Grey like she says she was going to do to Desmond and Clay, when Desmond touches the orb and dies his mind may actually be being uploaded to The Grey. The part in AC Revelations where Clay holds onto Desmond before pushing him away while Animus Island is being destroyed and when Desmond wakes up and his arm has the blue glowing marks on it, Clay could actually have uploaded a fragment of himself to Desmond’s mind so he would be uploaded to The Grey with him, during his trips on the Animus Juno could have planned it all along with him through his ancestors and it’s strange that he already knows a lot of things even with him being in the Animus for so long, like how he says it’s too late and everything Desmond holds dear is already gone, could be a reference to him knowing what Juno has done to the temple he also already asks Desmond could he come with him when he wakes up, so it’s already possible for both of them to escape the island. I agree Ubisoft done a shitty job with Desmond’s story in AC3 but I still love the games

It's funny whenever someone points out the logical conflicts or the bad points in the story writing, some people just describe the senseless story plot again and think that's the perfect answer. The question is not what the story told us of why Desmond kill Lucy because she's a spy, everybody knows what happens in the story. The problem is, they didn't have to made Lucy a spy when they could've just used another character, and continued her story with Desmond which would make the whole story way more intersting and make Desmond's death way more sad.

I'm very confused of the present time storyline at this point with Desmond being gone. These scenes here indicate that there was still unfinished business. What's up with the "Find Eve" thing? I don't recall Desmond doing anything of the sort. The way Subject 16 said it made it sound like there was a way to bring Lucy, the real Lucy, back. He mentioned Desmond's son, and we know now that that's a thing... Somehow... The Sun part was obviously the apocalypse they prevented, but as far as I can tell the Eve thing was left in the air. I've had my theory about this for a while now, but something tells me that in the final Assassin's Creed game (whenever the hell that will be), somehow, someway, maybe by having all of the pieces of Eden together and those clone things we saw at the end of Syndicate, Desmond and Lucy (or at least Desmond) will somehow come back, even if only temporarily.

Based on what Altair preached to the brotherhood after gathering past and future knowledge, and in what Ezio explained to Sofia, the Assassins don't want anarchy, because anarchy isn't peace. The Assassins are guardians of the innocent, and also guardians of those who want to help said innocent folks, *but not by using* methods of suffering on them (like: coercion, lies, unproven apprehensions, persecutions, free violence, psychological torture etc) There's no peace in chaos as there's no peace in tyranny also. True peace is in knowing you are able to help innocent people without making them mentally suffer in the process.

I was just outta college when AC2 came out. I played but didn’t Love AC1; however lol, almost everything about Assassins Creed II, Brotherhood, and Revelations are “perfect.” Of course nothin is really perfect but it’s as good as it gets for a video game. The storyline, the historical context & characters that they weave in beautifully (embellished/creatively inspired) as well as the story within the story itself (The Progenitor Civilization from deep in antiquity, Minerva, Juno, etc) They all use motifs & allegories whose inspiration come from archetypal “forces” found within the allegory & metaphor of our ancient wisdom teachings & texts. Along with the strangely common “knowledge” of the mysteries surrounding our ancient past…things like the Dogon knowing that Sirius was a binary star or the Vedic Cosmology that is within the margins of our current understanding of the universe…how’d they know that 2, 4, 6, 8, 10,000yrs ago. I mean 10,000 too bc that’s what the authors of Hamlets Mill suggest & they were two double PhDs from MIT…and Gobekli Tepe is dated to 9,600BCE or 11,600yrs ago & you don’t build such a massive monument w huge stones unless your society & culture is “perfect” Not surprisingly to me lol a lot of these historical “anomalies” are actually beginning to appear to be “The Truth” or at least a better explanation of what the fuck this all is We now know 12,800sh years ago something happened (comet, my opinion) that caused the catastrophe of all catastrophes, volcanoes, earthquakes, floods, fire & fuckin brimstone. Things are fucked for 1,500yrs or so. Then round about 11,000yrs ago is when “we” had the planet & continents & environments & ecosystems that we have today (until we fuck this all up) Art imitating life or life imitating art? Lol. Seriously tho, there is a philosophical/metaphysical aspect/element to these games bc of the story they used to tell it…and tho it’s polluted by the passage of time & the muddling of the church (sorry but true) this search for The Truth is not something we should ever give up on bc our own existence may rely upon it…

My first impression about this game is Templars are under the catholic religion while Assassin's are the ones who opposes the pope and roman religion, and Assassins are the seekers of the truth. Just saying :)

The Templars are atheists. The Assassins don't have a specific religion (Altair: Islam, Ezio: Catholic Christianity, Connor: Mohawk religion, Edward: Anglican Protestant Christianity, Shay: Catholic Christianity, Arno: Catholic Christianity, Jacob and Evie: Anglican Protestant Christanity, Bayek: Ancient Egyptian religion, Kassandra: Ancient Greek religion)

Ognjen Milosavljević I remember Juno saying that the first civilisation had six senses while humans only have 5. Humans don't know the sixth sense yet, I think that's what it means

She was working for the templars, but she fell in love with desmond so she was probably about to join the brotherhood. However, Juno did not know this, so she killed Lucy.

I really miss the old Assassin's Creed (the mystery, characters, GOOD story), I grew up playing them and don't get me wrong, Odyssey and Valhalla are good games, but really bad AC. I really enjoyed them, but doesn't feel like AC anymore.
