Entering Nefertiti's Aaru and hearing this felt so relaxing to me. The view was absolutely stunning (aside from the scorpions), and the sound was peaceful. I've tried to find the original music for it from the game's soundtrack but wasn't able to. This video definitely helps

Origins was something else in terms of ambiance, there was a clear love for egiptian life put in here. Not even odyssey or valhalla came even close. Heck, maybe not even mirage, although that game has a lot of passion put into it

Great video, thanks very much for this ! It is certainly a shame that Assassins Creed Origins wasn’t as popular as Odyssey. Origins looked stunning its one of the most beautiful games I’ve played. And the idea of a Medjay is really cool.

You're welcome! I think that's tied to the popularity of the game. I have an impression that Odyssey was better received by the public than Origins. Plus, Odyssey is also a lot bigger, so there's more environment to work with.

@@QUIESTAmbience That and more people are Interested in ancient Greece then ancient Egypt in general. Suprised they jumped the gun and skipped straight the viking age. Should have made a game based in the early roman period, middle imperial roman period, then late, then the frankish period, and then the viking age. They skipped over the soooo much but I guess it's all bout money and vikings are really popular right now.

Roman world would be interesting, but I guess they wanted a setting that is vastly different, so that's why they've picked up vikings. Plus, its popularity atm played the part in that, I think you're 100% correct about that.

I generally do videos of games that I play at the moment (or just finished playing). Since I'm not planning to return to Origins any time soon, the answer would be no. I also try not to make videos with soundtracks a lot (with a few exceptions). I've decided a long time ago that my main focus will be ambient videos, mostly without music.

The word elysium has in fact no greek origins but could be derived from the egyptian word for „reeds“ (ealu). Makarios, meaning blessed in greek, also may be derived from the egyptian „maa kharu“ meaning „ true of voice“ (the deceased entering the field of reeds). See: Jan Assmann
