The Modern Day story in 4, Rogue, Unity, and Syndicate is so lacking that this video just boils it down to 10 seconds for each explaining why your character is playing a video game and in the end some people you don’t care about kill each other and now Abstergo has some shroud. Ubisoft screwed up big time by listening to casual gamers that hate the modern day sections. If they don’t want to continue the story of the previous games they should just make a new franchise that is entirely set in the past instead of gutting what hardcore fans loved about this one

What made assassins creed assassins creed was the present story. We had a very good concept and a reason why we were assassins. Now we don t know anything. We have some random scenes from the present in each game that don t make any sense to us. Odissey seems like a very good and fun game, and i hope it is, but it will never have the concept of the first assassins creed games. I hope they realize it soon. I believe the answer to all this problems is a fucking super well told present carachter. Rememember: altair, ezio auditore and connor were just means for desmond to save the world and help the gods. Where are the gods now? Do you still get the assasins creed feelling of the first games? Why are we doing this? What is going on in the game world? The creed, in my opinion, is dead and it is a shame since it is what made assasins creed a masterpiece. Don t get me wrong, i am fine with the new rpg concept. But it would be better if ubisoft created a unique style for assasisns creed just like naughty dog did with the last of us and ancharted. That would take much more time. And not just 1 or 2 years, but maybe 3 or 4 or even 5 years. But that would be too much time for both stupid fans, and ubisoft. AC is just a money machine. All i am sorry about is the potential the initial idea had... I still have hope one day all this will happen. I am a super assssins creed fan(my favourite game) and watching it suffer since unity hurts me.

@twistedwithmelancholy84366 жыл бұрын
Steven Ritter Fans said the same thing about Desmond. Always complaining about how boring he was, and saying they should just get rid of the modern day. Well, Ubi in response pretty much gave fans what they wanted. He was killed off, and the modern day was minimised. Then from Black Flag onto Syndicate, the games have been completely disjointed due to the lack of a modern day protagonist to link the games together. Hardcore fans know that, and have been shouting for better and more cohesive modern day. So. Long story short. I think Layla's introduction is a tentative approach, designed to satisfy hardcore fans of the story/lore but be optional enough for casuals to skip. Just my thoughts though.

Im a long time AC fan (since AC 2) I have played ever game of the series and have completed every game to 100% sync. Its my favourite franchise but the recent games lost the AC identity I think. Even though I didnt like Unity and Syndicate quite so much, I was so used to a yearly release that the year off really showed me that this is still my favourite franchise. The year off really helped the franchise even though I really missed it. For me what made AC special is the combination of modern day and some ancestor in the past. This magic really fell of for me when Desmond died in 3 and it was just every other game mostly. I am so excited to play Origins because I think from what ive seen it really has that magic again and hope they can continue the modern day in a logic way with all the mystic elements of the 1. ziv and all that good stuff. I wish you guys a great time playing Origins and hope you will have as much fun as me. And of course great video Lazerzz :D waiting for your Origins playthrough.

@Extinct Reaper. I highly doubt they had Hellenistic Egypt planned back then although they might've though they'd eventually make a game based in Egypt given the fact that it IS the greatest ancient civilization ever and has a rich, well-documented history to dwell into but again, the Eye of Horus is one of the most popular glyphs ever so it might've been added to make the cinematic with the AoE sound more "deep". Same with the few Ancient Greek letters in the cinematic.

What I like about the story is the Bayek and Aya duo fit perfect for the theme of Assassin's Creed important members and historical figures like Altaïr and Ezio: Sacrifise Despite the love that they still feel for each other (they did not 'break up' as most people claim), they realise that throughout their journey together, they became aware of the chaos in the world and that a bigger cause has called for their actions. So in order to serve the greater good, they sacrifise the love they have for each other and follow a new path that awaits for both of them: The Path of the Hidden Ones. Their theme of sacrifising something important fits the Assassin masters Altaïr and Ezio and together with Bayek they form the three most key members of the entire Assassin's Creed franchise. Altaïr was raised as an assassin and is the one who stopped the corruption of Al Mualim in the creed. After obtaining the Piece of Eden, he sacrifised the normal life he could have lived with his wife and son and still stood up to Abbas' rebellion and even years afterwards he still served the Creed and stopped Abbas. Ezio never had a choice about joining the assassins. He fell in it due to the actions of his parents and them being targeted by Rodrigo Borgia. Ezio wasted most of his life in order to get revenge for the death of his father and brothers. After being freed from the thought of revenge, Ezio made a choice: to sacrifise the life he could have had after his revenge and instead he choose to spread the Renaissance and Assassin ideals of independence and free will throughout the Italy and later on throughout the entire world. He saves cities from the Tempelars, takes a quest to rediscover the lost history of the the Order. All key members of the Creed sacrifised their personal feelings and motives for the greater good. That's why I think that Bayek and Aya, father and mother of the Assassin's Creed, are the perfect role models and creators of the Creed. Even during the story we see them develop. Bayek starts his quest for vengeance and is pretty bland about any motive that involves rulers or pretty much anything that doesn't have to do with his revenge for the death of his son. However, during this journey he finds that the world has need for something bigger that truly serves the people and exterminates the evil that exists in the world.

Ok so first of all, this video is brilliant and you've done an incredible job. It left me with a couple pieces of food for thought: Even though Lucy was a Templar and Juno led Desmond to kill her, why wouldn't Juno want the templars to get the apple anyways? Is it because she knew that Desmond would let her free anyways?
@dannym12047 жыл бұрын
Juno knew Desmond would use the apple to open the grand temple. From there Juno would lead Desmond to the key. If Lucy wouldn't have been killed the templars would have gotten the Apple and the temple would have never been opened. Hope this helped
@x_overlord_x31217 жыл бұрын
and you need to know that Desmond was the only person who can search connor memories so he's the only person who can find the key to free Juno. so with out Desmond she will never be free , earth get destroyed, and she'll maybe need to wait for another 17000 years to even think of freedom again . ^_^

The #1 reason why AC2 is my favorite game in the franchise is that both the history aspect & the modern aspect were very fun. I remember having a blast playing as Desmond and was genuinely excited as to where the modern-day story is gonna go. Now I'm like "whatever just get me back inside animus". This is primarily why I think the series lost its charm - it's not RPG, it's not Spartans, or Vikings, or whatever, it's literally the fact that Desmond - a guy who I've considered the MAIN CHARACTER no longer exists and the modern-day story became an absolute clusterfuck 😜

Okay, I followed Assassins Creed's story all the way up to AC Rogue and then took a break after my game malfunctioned and refused to work from then on. I ignored AC Unity and attempted to get into Syndicate but just couldn't find anything relevant in the plots since Desmond was dead and the modern day protagonists had no identities. Then Origins hit after a few side titles I didn't care about and all seemed to be going up........ that is until I again experienced no change what so ever in the events unfolding in the modern day, except for a few snatch and grabs and fights between templar and assassin agents. Now, with all this being played out before me, I feel like I'm gonna throw up. Point of this nonsense: don't do drugs, stay in school, and don't get too hyped or immersed in a video game. Note: If Desmond doesn't come back soon, I'm legit gonna cry- *not really*. Thanks for the summary by the way!!

Yeah, Assassins creed from 1 to 3 played like a good movie. The cutscenes were on point. Voice acting (I love shaun) was really good. New assassin's creed games are based on entries and texts in the animus and that what's left of cutscenes. That's why I dropped the series after Black Flag. I personally think Assassin's Creed would be still good (and I'm not talking about gameplay, Unity was ok, Origins is a different approach but it's still a good "UbiGame") if there wasn't the whole marketing and business department behind it. Lucy really wouldn't die if Kristen Bell didn't leave the team. After that the whole story, with Assassin's Creed 3 on lead, feels really rushed, just to close Miles' saga. The whole "Desmond dies" moment was a big disappointment and more a "wtf" than "ahaa" moment. It started in Revelations where the cuts were obvious. Subject 16, the whole mistery of him, ended in like what... 2 cutscenes? Overall It's a good series. Just had a massive downfall and now it's on mediocre.

The story between Assassin's Creed 1 - 3 can be compared to the story between 4 - Syndicate as Marvel vs DC The MCU is a massive story told over many movies and it's clear that great planning went into each movie so the overall story made sense by the end (all the side plots in all the films find narrative threads in Avengers 3 +4) The DCEU keeps pumping out random crap each year with no overall goal or plan, hoping to strike gold one day so they can have something to cash in on (isnt it weird that Wonder Woman is the latest solo film yet is the only one with a sequel?)

The animus is science fiction sure, but it isn't that far fetched. Instinct being "genetic memory" and being able to tap into that isn't impossible to believe. This could be a real thing and we don't know it yet. We already know that most creatures on earth have it to some level. Animals and insects that don't have the ability to be taught or learn already know what it was born to do.

Thank you so much for this. I played all of the games up to AC4 back in middle and high school, however as a grade school teen, I was all about the graphics, wrecking large groups of soldiers, and the missions to kill higher ups. I really didn't care or pay attention to the story that much, was invested for the fighting, weaponry, and scenery I suppose. Played half of Unity and got bored honestly but now a college upperclassmen I got Origins because I love Ancient Egypt and the old Assassin's Creed games so let's give it a shot. Origins was one of the best games I've ever played and as opposed to my grade school self I paid attention to the story and was very invested. I'm now hooked back into the series and decided I want an in-depth look into the overarching story. This video was perfect as it went back through the old games I already played and gave the main story points that I glossed over the time I played them. Thank you so much for this video as it clarified pretty much everything and the next couple AC games that come out I will be able to enjoy the story and the combat (I might even go back and play the Ezio trilogy again and actually be invested in the story).
