I still can't believe how much you can learn from people that never truly existed.. Ezio was just the most amazing character in gaming in my opinion. His story really was, like you said, our story. His story was indeed very relatable in many aspects, but it was also very emotional and to me, that's what really made me love him as a character. I just love how much I've learned from him.. And to be honest, I smashed the like button even before the video actually started, because I just knew you would totally nail it!

i wish somebody out there with the skill would collect edzio's story, and tell it using all the clips of the trilogy and make it like a short film series like one season or something... telling the story line starting with edzio telling of his life in this video, mixing clips and scenes, and putting them together from the end of his life. like grandpa telling you a great story before bead time. i hope to ignore desmonds story for this series as much as possible, because it's more about the story of edzio for this beautiful peace of fiction. i love his life story so much that this needs to be done. ive seen series of assassins creed on youtube, but no amount of professional performance of the same stature of this video. but to many of them only focus on the cut scenes rather than getting the most out of the story and passion for edzio's life. i realize that is how it was played in the game, but that was because it was meant for the video game. i really loved how the author of this video used the in game cut scenes and either added subtle AC music ques to the scene or focused on the material of the important information that edzio was trying to convey to the audience showing great emotion of his character, as well as expressing that emotion with action. it's really to bad these games were limited in what camera angles that could be captured of the protagonist, so we could get a unique view of this story at it's whole. but as i said, this author does a really good job using existing scenes from previous games to express the emotion related to what we are currently being shown, like when cloudia was being branded as assassin and showing a subtle past of edzio joining into the brotherhood.

Lol 32 indeed, that is the purpose of fiction. It is a mirror through which we can view ourselves and the world around us. There is no perfection in ourselves or the world around us, so we do not need a perfect mirror, but a magnifying glass serves this purpose even better. We do not see things as they are. We see things as we are. - Anais Nin

I disagree, if a character/story was well received, no doubt they'd get an eventual sequel. In the case of further sequels, the kenway family was an interesting lineage to explore so I reckon it had its own storyline. Assassin's creed 2 and ezio in it was so good a sequel was needed, Brotherhood as well.

I relate to Ezio so much. My mom and I have been through a lot the 23 years I’ve been on this earth. It’s been hard for us and that’s why we both relate to Ezio. A lot lead up to the release of ACII. I lost both of my grandparents on the same day in June of 2009 and I turned to video games to stay sane. I lost myself in the games I cherished as a kid. Kingdom hearts, Final Fantasy, Dragonball Tenkaichi games, and many others. When ACII came out I didn’t realize it would be as good as I did and after Uberto betrayed Ezio I finished the mission, started a new save, and urged my mother to watch along as I played. She loves the AC games because she also found something to put her mind at ease. She played when I was at school and would wait for me to get to where she was to talk about it. Assassins Creed II literally helped my mom and I through a time that destroyed us... We have played every AC since II. She loves all of the games because of what they mean to her and I do too. Origins is her absolute favorite right now. She said that as a parent Bayek is her favorite. Seeing him go through hell for Khemut. She would do the same. Woah I just realized I’m rambling lol. Sorry, but again Ezio will always be my favorite because his story helped my mom and I when we were lost.

Ah man, this really shows that Ezio is one of the best video game characters out there and not only the best of the Assassin’s Creed Franchise. It’s sad to see that Ubisoft doesn’t care about good characters and good stories anymore, because this ruins the franchise. If we look at Ezio we see an amazing writen character with an amazing writen story. When we look at Odyssey, we only see that Ubisoft cares about money. It gave me a view on character arcs and developements I haven't even noticed while playing the games or watching other videos. There are many videos about why Ezio is so great and so loveble. Dude. That was so beautiful. I've always loved Ezio more than any character. I've always tried to love the other assassins to be fair but it was never ever a contest. But you've explained it so clearly. I understand why I love him so much now. Why he's always been an inspiration to me. Why that iconic music gives me chills despite having easily heard it more than a hundred times. I've always thought it was because he changes the most, but the truth is, he never really changes. He learns and is basically perfected. He lets his tragic life shape him in a positive way. A lesser man would have gone insane from all of the loss and fighting. But we should all know by now, he is not a lesser man. Thank you so much for that video. I think I'm done with AC but I'll never be done with Ezio my favorite character of all time and also your channel. You always speak your mind just like Ezio. Maybe you take inspiration from him aswell? Plus you just understand the series more than anyone else writing it right now. That basically says it all. Our series is dead and this unholy beast is simply prancing around in it's skin and masquerading as it. It's been a fun journey but I have seen enough for one life.

I always get teary eyed when I think on Ezio. Ezio's life and story is so profound. It's so much more than just a fictional story. We truly witnessed his life from his birth to his death over several years. The growth and experience we saw in his character was unprecedented, and it's still yet to be surpassed. He might not have been a real person, and I feel silly for saying this, but to say that is an insult to the character. I think it's because whether he existed or not is not important; it's that it felt like he was real.

This whole video is a masterpiece, especially the last 3 minute montage. The part that always hits me in the feels most is when Ezio has to lay Yusef to rest. Not because it is the saddest moment of his trilogy, but because even as an older man he lived a life full of watching other people suffer. Yet he has to stay strong through it all just like Altair did when his own family turned on him. It makes the line that Ezio says to Desmond feel even heavier. “Maybe you will be the one to make all of this suffering worth something in the end” .. what an amazing tribute to my favourite character of any video game or movie. Thanks James for taking the time to make this and for using the music to perfection at the end.

I remember thinking at the end of AC2 that it was sad how Ezio was used by fate as a means of talking to Desmond. To have that be his life purpose. I was always glad they gave him more attention than that.

Wow, this video's very well put and beautiful! I have such a deep connection with Ezio, just like you and many others do, that I had tears in my eyes while watching the video, thinking that there might not be another such character in the entire AC series, both past and future games. Ezio Auditore da Firenze was a true gem.

In Brotherhood, Ezio feared that Claudia would end up like Christina, dead because of him, that was why he wanted to send her away. But once she proved that she could look after herself, he realised that she was okay.

I started playing Assassin’s creed since i was 11, played all the games from AC1 to Valhalla, no character in the whole AC world can top Ezio and i wish we can play the Ezio’s trilogy again with last gen consoles graphics.. a remake would be a dream come true 🤍

The ending speech of ezio " When I was young......."and the background music started playing, that was the only tune going on in my head the moment i read the title of this video. This tune feels unknowingly filled with proudness, sorrow, regret, respect, nostalgia, love, wiseness, truth , affection and wisdom added with one of the best speeches of ezio auditore and his chilling voice , will always be the best speech in the history of gaming( also the speech in Assassins creed 2 " 22 years ago...."). This speech always leaves my eyes wet.

I mean Ezio lived his and Altair's life. He lost and regained love. He is the only assassin fans loved enough to get three games. Only assassin who has never once strayed from the brotherhood and one assassin who was never wrong. He is also the only assassin who was able to understand he was being manipulated through time and the only one who talks to his forechildren by talking to Desmond. One of the few assassins to die of a natural cause at old age. Thats badass. Hence being the greatest ASSASSIN of all time.

This is still the best character in gaming history, hell I loved this character more then most movie characters these days, the message, the writing, the story, you just feel it, never would've expected a game to be so moving and teach such valuable lessons

Altair is my favourite. He seems more stealthy and like he matured at a much earlier point in life. From his whisper-esque and mostly monotone speech, his miniscule movements during dialogue and his subtle mannersisms, give him this illusion of seeming, overall, a more mildly mannered personality; being less extravagant and emotionally driven compared to Ezio, which I think helps him fit into the role of an assassin more naturally. Providing him with an edge of deceptiveness and higher probability to surprise, if need be. Might just be me but he's not as easily interpretable perhaps, like a mental giant. Not gonna lie, it is oh so mighty close though. Ezio has all that bloody passion and exudes charisma like no other which almost makes up for it but to me, slightly falls short as I don't think it provides as many benefits as an aSS-aSS-see-NO when meticulously analysing the pros/cons in their respective characteristics relative to their role.

“Why is Ezio Auditore the best character in the series.” *He’s the only one with a trilogy.* Simple but true. AC2 is phenomenal and we fell in love with him, but with two more games, we saw him grow even more. Imagine if they did that to Altair, Connor, Edward, Arno, etc.

I was just a young little lad when I was introduced to AC 2 like 5 or 6 to be exact. Watching my brother play the games, I barely understood what it all meant. I only understood the great parkour, the hidden blade, cool robes, and a cool character. And as I grew up I would play the games in different stages of my life, I understood more and more of Ezio's story, his growth. From an young and arrogance, to old and wise. His story never ceases to amaze me no matter how many times I hear or play through AC 2.
