You’ve made great points many which I agree with, however I think this goes a little deeper outside of assassins creed and more so people are just tired of forced “woke” culture shenanigans that’s plagued media for the last 10 yrs. Instead of focusing on making a game/movie with a solid story the focus goes to forced inclusion. Not to say diversity shouldn’t be in media, we definitely need it but done the right way where it’s not forced or misplaced, particularly where there isn’t lazy writing to make a quick lgbtq, woman, black cash grab. I think that’s people main issue underneath everything else, but also it’s like why make him black and skip over all these other legendary Japanese samurai that don’t have to debate if something is historically true or not? I’m pretty sure if Ubisoft made an assassins creed game in Africa and the main protagonist was a white dude instead of an African warrior black people would be pissed

If it was about a main protagonist who was a real person and they where white yeah it would've been fine. Only if it were a real person though and makes sense for their story. But yes it would be a lose lose because someone's gonna complain about something
