@@plants_before_people5329 There are Plenty of evidence to support that he wasn't. Oda Nobunaga seemingly kept him around as a novel curiosity, and was fascinated by his black skin. It wasn't because Yasuke was a skilled, noble warrior. It's documented he made Yasuke perform tricks for his amusement and loved to parade him in public where people would crowd around to see the black skinned man, so Yasuke couldn't go out in public without causing a scene. After Nobunaga was killed, it's believed that he returned to his former slave master's ship and went back to his country. What ubisoft is doing completely contradicts this real historical figure.

And Yasuke was a real person and fought for Oda Nobu Naga and it is even theorized he assisted him in his Seppuku, and brought his head to Nobunagas son. Alot of his later life is shrouded in mystery which would fit perfect with the Assassins Creed lore.

The era is the Sengoku Period. That gun they use looks very similar to the Tanegashima. A rifle introduced during the Sengoku period. It's also obviously Yasuke we use who again was alive during that period too. They actually got the clan symbol on his chest right too. Its the crest of the Oda clan. Civil uprising was happening at this time against many of the Lords which again would tie in to the theme of an assassin's creed. Maybe you kill the Lords of an opposing clan (your "templars"). Don't know but it looks interesting.
