If this lady was the level designer she knocked it out of the park. Say what you like about Unity, I get it, but that map, architecture and free running was AMAZING in this game. Still one of my favorite AC’s just for the crowded cities, graphics, free running, and map design.

Assassin's Creed Unity in 2019 is a really good game in my opinion. Out of every single game released so far Unity is the best looking in every way and mechanically such as the fight system and Parkour/Free running system are the best in the entire series. The team tried to go above and beyond and they did. The game came with alot of bugs but if you play it now, the only thing you might not like is the story and the characters. If you want a AC game that is visually and mechanically superior This is the one for you. In my opinion.

Not gonna lie, when I first saw Notre Dame my first thought was astonishment at how closely clustered Parisian landmarks are; my second thought was to use it to imagine a 1:1 scale Gundam Epyon standing beside it.

Quite literally, movies run at an average of 16 to 23 fps. So in that regard they are going for the cinematic experience. This is,of course, a lousy interpretation.

The 900p are not actually a problem. Most people will not be able to tell the difference on a TV. The 30fps and there stupid statement about how cinematic it is is the problem.

So when she says she built Notre Same, what does that mean exactly? Did she design the AC version with lots of concept art, or is she the actual 3D modeler? A 3D model with that much geometry would be a monumental undertaking for one person.

Ubisoft is huge, so they have the cash monies to hire for specific jobs. No doubt she worked with concept, lighting, 3D and texture artists as well as other level designers, considering her title is 'senior' level designer. Notre Dame is NOT a one-man job.

its not devs fault if PS4 cant handle 1080p on a proper next gen game. only way consoles will get 1080p/60fps (solid) is for games that look and play like last gen

dibils89 Its the choice of the developer. Push graphics and get an inferior performance or only go so far that the performance stays at a good level. But you're still right, the next gen consoles are realy bad compared to a pc for the same price. They wanted to create cheaper machines but therefore limiting what is currently possible.

The graphics were never downgraded. And if anything, the PS4 downgraded the xbox one because the CPU was less powerful on the PS4. Not trying to talk shit, but you just mention the PS4 so...

Shawn Kemp the CPU didn't hold the ps4 down and neither did Xbox hold down ps4. And the the CPU number doesn't really matter. Because Xbox download less things faster, and ps4 downloads more things slower. You get what I mean 😂

Shawn Kemp actually no xbox still holds down the PS4 CPU wise. The Xbox One's CPU has a faster clock but less cores/threads, the PS4 is about .3GHZ slower then the Xbox One's CPU BUT it has more threads so it can process more at a time then the Xbox one's processor. In a way the CPU on the Xbox One is less powerful but it runs faster and the CPU on the PS4 is more powerful but it processes slower. PS4 could probably run 1080p 60fps on Unity but if there are any load screens (going into a menu for shops or something) they would be 20-30 seconds and you would also get render pauses/a smaller view distance. Microsoft paid off ubisoft so it wouldnt run 1080p 60fps so people wouldnt complain about it but low and behold people are complaining about it more then if they didn't do that.

games just play much more naturally at 60 fps (as it is the speed at which the eye sees things) though I don't know what you meant with p's, but I'm assuming you meant FPS which are "frames per second" which you mentioned just before, so basically you mentioned 2 things which are the same, and that do matter, as they vastly improve your gaming experience, something a real gamer should know. You might want to do some research before saying this kind of stuff.

(fps presumably, it shurely doesn't mean "resolution") but he already mentionned "frames per second" and what the heck does he mean with "tandrums" . It's still about the games, but if they don't run well they're just an unplaisent experience! When designers want to recreate a land mark, especially when they want it to be on a 1 to 1 on scale, they have another part of the team take pictures of the building. These pics will cover almost every single crevice of the entire building. They probably take measurements too that they can later incorporate into their design in the game. For example, if the main character stands 5ft 10inches tall in game, and the entrance of the building has a 10ft tall door they can use the character model as a reference point to scale the door, and everything else from then on in the recreation. All of that can simply be done from pictures and measuring tape, basically.

***** Seriously, it fucking sucks that PC is getting the shit end of the stick. There are a lot of people out there with mid range computers that can run these games way better than consoles but most games are shitty ports and end up running poorly on PC. Then you have something like Alien: Isolation that runs beautifully on PC and it makes you wonder why more developers can't achieve the same. I bought a PS4 for Destiny and I want an Xbone for Halo but it's clear that the gaming industry is afraid of people converting to PC and I would rather just get these games for my glorious rig. Why should I buy multiplatform games on my console when it will look and run better on my PC and I can possibly get it at a better price, even on launch day. The industry knows this and they still need a reason to sell consoles. I mean some people are already running games at 4k and it's getting cheaper and easier each month. Consoles were outdated before they even hit the store shelves.
