@Sigvald Nielsen we'll yes, we don't live back when pagan religions were the norm. So much has been lost, we could never be entirely authentic to the historical practice. However, this does not diminsh pagan religions or make us fanboys. Modern Norse paganism, at least, (greco-roman, egyptian, and more also have followers) has been granted official military recognition - including worship space in the Navy chapels and Mjolnir on headstones at Arlington.

I would love to see Mjlonir show up as an Isu artifact, and have the lightning it can summon correlate with a tainted one. I don’t want Eivor to be a tainted one, it would just be cool to do something like that with a character similar to “The Sun of Ra” from Origins.
@nightnblade43483 жыл бұрын
Nahh pieces of eden were never divine artifacts like mjlonir. odyssey got this incorrect they said isu was gods?? When it was mentioned the isu were mortals who came before humans and were way more intelligent and advanced, which is why valhalla made a great choice in adding excalibur ( King arthurs sword the one he pulled from a rock ) it makes sense because that is a piece of eden which would explain why arthur was such a legendary figure
@commenter1263 жыл бұрын
@@nightnblade4348 what are you talking about? Have you even played fate of Atlantis?? The ISU is a different race yes, they’re more advanced than humans yes, much taller, much stronger, more smart etc. But humans throughout time saw the ISU as gods as they lost the truth through time, the gods from Egypt to ancient Greeks the humans so worshipped and everything were nothing more than the ISU race, the Mjlonir still has a chance to be ISU tech, the gods like oden and thor might even be ISU’s
@nightnblade43483 жыл бұрын
They cant tho because if you clearly see that short clip from ac2 of adam and eve escaping you can see the civilisation of the isu looks nothing like asgard or atlantis many people clearly stated that odyssey didnt follow the actual storyline and ubisoft basically admitted it by saying valhalla will follow the story of isu
@thefleepo80133 жыл бұрын
@@nightnblade4348 The Isu in Odyssey were the same as in all of the previous games, they are beings who came before humans and were "perfect" which basically implies the human understanding of what a god is, though of course they weren't abstract beings per se. Fate of Atlantis takes place in a simulation, the events happening there are not real, though the simulation is based on the places and Isu which/who had existed before the collapse. Aka the Greek gods. With that said, it's safe to assume Ubisoft is just looking in all different religions and mythologies to transform godly beings into Isu, and the PoE are artifacts created by the Isu, most often being something humans would consider divine - the Apples of Eden, the Staff of Eden, the Sword of Eden, the Shroud of Eden and many more. On the other hand, however, it's true that while they did introduce certain weapons in Origins and Odyssey such as Poseidon's Trident, which would fit the description, they were never properly introduced as PoE, and so one can only guess if objects such as Mjölnir will be referred to in such a way, even though it's highly likely there will be such iconic objects in the game.

When comparing the two, I think...the Norsemen had the better faith. Sure, the sacrifices are a huge red flag...but in terms of what awaits in the afterlife, they've got it made. Feasting, brawling, singing, drinking; meanwhile...Christians are stuck sitting on clouds, wearing stuff like robes and halos and have only harps to play music with. Not to mention that the Aesir actually do what a god's MEANT to do, smite the wicked. Whereas we've got scores of wicked souls walking around...and not one of them has been struck down yet

Never have I seen such an idiotic comment. The whole point of the God of War franchise is that not all the gods are bad, and Kratos realizes this by the end of 3. In the 2018 continuation, Freya, Mimir, and Jormungandr all help Kratos and Atreus on their journey. Tyr is also mentioned to be one of the Norse gods who vouched for peace between the realms. If the AC franchise was aimed at players who turn off their brains when they play games, they certainly hit that demographic right.

@@bloodandmagic2445 Nope. Similar but not quite. The English faith prior to christianity had different "pagan" gods. In their case thursday for an example was day of thunder - Thunor.
