Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay are widely considered to be two of the best wrestlers on the planet. Representing AEW and NJPW respectively, these two stars are at the apex of their game and consistently put on phenomenal matches.
When they collided at Wrestle Kingdom 17 in January 2023, everyone knew that this contest was going to be special but, even at that, it blew away expectations.
At Forbidden Door 2023, Ospreay and Omega went head-to-head again, and once again produced one of the greatest matches of all time.
This story chronicles the journey from 2015 to 2023, and the majority of the little bits in between. As always, some matches/segments/promos have been left out to better fit the flow of the story and to abide by copyright.

This is without even mentioning his AEW run, the majority of which he was insanely injured and yet no one ever noticed. And it's not like the NJPW days are behind him, he just needed to heal. Look at him this year, it's like he never left 2018

I’ve been to Brian Danielson vs Kenny Omega at grand slam and Adam Cole Vs Johnny Gargano at takeover New York, I could easily say this match blew those matches out of the water on story telling and in ring ability. Another great video, one recommendation id give is whenever you have a section of video with no spoken narration or dialogue. Like the section of this video around the 6 minute mark. You used subtitles to tell the audience a brief summary of the history between Kenny and Will, and thats totally fine. But next time maybe make the subtitles larger and/or at the very least make them a different color than the color of whats happening in the background. Like in this video in that same section you had tiny little white letters, with black outlines. Which already makes it harder to read for alot of us visually impaired people, with the letters being so small. But then you also have this slideshow of pictures playing behind the subtitles….and the pictures are also black and white….and have this grainy, pixelated filter on them that makes the, already hard to read subtitles, even worse. Not a big deal, and i was able to eventually read them, but its an easy fix for the future. Either leave the photos behind the subtitles in color that way if you use white subtitles with black outlines they should be easily legible to the viewers. Or If youre going to make the photos black and white or alter the color of them in some way then just change the color of the subtitles to a brighter color that isnt the same color as what ever is behind them. And regardless of wether you choose to do either of those or not. At the very least make the subtitles larger. Thats the end of my whining on the internet😁

I’m sorry but whenever I hear the nickname “The Cleaner” I can’t help but imagine Kenny with a mop and duster in hand cleaning offices, schools or houses! I know it’s meant to mean like an assassin who comes in and cleans up but I still get images of my grandmother in her work outfit when she used to clean her local school when she was alive. Where as Will Ospreay uses the nickname the “Aerial Assassin” where we all know what an assassin is and I love that word (I prefer it to hitman and definitely cleaner 😂) and after seeing Will Ospreay wrestle you can see why “Aerial Assassin” is just the perfect name for him.

Most likely, it was agreed on by NJPW and AEW from the start when each match would take place, and given that it started in NJPW and that each match was for the IWGP US title(or whatever there callin it now) and cunducted under NJPW rules with there referees, it makes sense that the last match will be there. Dont get me wrong, I agree it would be the perfect place to do it but when 2 companies work together there's a lot of politics and a lot of give and take. I think its a given that if they could have done it, then they would have.

Great video but i think some narration on your part would do it wonders. Some slides of text go by by too fast or are hard to see when mixed into the background’s filters. I think with a video like this you’d only need to do it with the big moments of the video. Building up tension with the beat of the story like with how important of a win it was for Osprey and why it meant so much to him for example.

I’m a Janner myself (from Plymouth) but my family have a close friendship with an Essex family (over 4 generations now) and Will sounds exactly like them especially one called Peter (until he had a sex change and his voice changed) now known as Vicky
