I just want to see the modern day progression in the games, not the comics.

I liked how the Instruments actually existed. Actually, to that point of not connectedness, I liked how _Heresy_ kinda blended the Movie part of the universe with the YA novel part, at least.

Thanks for mentioning my comment, Loomer! I thought that Uprising was more cohesive plot-wise than Templars or AC, which is a good direction for the comics to take because it makes the story and characters seem more meaningful. In regards to the fancy technology, I actually enjoyed seeing sci-fi, cyberpunk-ish tech... I can definitely imagine Abstergo, the Assassins, and the Instruments using all sorts of wacky experimental gadgets to try and one up each other, and we have seen weird devices used in the lore's past (like the Frye twins' grappling gauntlets and Arno's guillotine gun). With that being said, I think this comic went a tiny bit overboard - I can get behind a heated hidden blade (I assume it's to cauterize wounds and not make a bloody mess), but what is the practical purpose of an electro-whip? I think AC: Brahman handled tech the best, as the tech in that comic was outlandish but not impractical. Speaking of which, I loved the tie-in to Brahman in this comic! :D

I definitely have some thoughts about this one, and after watching this I have even more lol. Having only read this comic and the previous two comics in this book club, I thought the art style in this one was the most compelling of the three; it had a lot of personality (especially in the way the characters were drawn and the way the panels were put together) compared to the other two, which I had been disappointed by art-wise. My only complaint would be that the first civ looked a little too human. It’s a shame that they’ve gotten away from having the isu on a different scale from humans, I guess. I thought the discussion of echoes of consciousness and of animus use on Charlotte’s sense of self was pretty interesting (in the bar with My’shell and when she was trapped in the animus). I always found the bleeding effect storyline quite compelling and missed it with the removal of real modern day content from the games, so I’m glad psychological effects of the animus have cropped up in the comics (somewhat in last month’s comic too). Thanks for putting a name to the increasing action movie tone of this comic; it reminded me of my initial reaction to the page where Otso Berg was putting his suit on. Basically, “what the everloving fuck is this ridiculousness?” I guess it reflects the temptation of using action movie (or perhaps superhero comic) visuals to pull people in. Alternatively, it’s a matter of the events of the timeline (Juno’s actions, the accumulation of power and pieces of eden (despite them being mia)) pushing the ac modern day away from “our timeline,” if you will. A decision eventually has to be made in terms of how the fantastical elements of the series would cause the world to develop (like if they had decided to go with the alternate ending of 3 and ended the world), However, since the action movie stuff in this is tech-based, it may not be totally excusable. Who knows if the action movie tech and tone in this one will have any impact on other parts of the series, though. I personally also prefer a somewhat more down to earth modern day. And oh man, Desmond’s son. Putting him in the hands of Juno is mildly irritating in a “Desmond did not sacrifice himself for this nonsense” kind of way, lol. I guess I’ll reserve judgment, especially since this comment is already so long, but I don’t think Desmond needed to have a son in the first place.

Hey Loomer, this is concrete8. Long time no talk. I just subscribed to your youtube page so I don't know if you have discussed this but, how do you feel about Ubisoft not making multiplayer levels now for the 3rd game in a row? I find most of the single player campaign and of course co op missions in ACU to be ok at best. Very repetitive in nature. Now I do understand that multiplayer levels are too. But it's more of a challenge. I mean after a month you can wrap up these single player games and never touch it again. Multilevel continues all yr. Hell people are still playing Black Flag. Just don't understand the reasoning. I have been playing video games since the early 80's and all the games were single player campaign platforms. I guess what I am getting at here is the fact that this single player shit is old hat, so to speak. Not sure why Ubisoft does not see it. Anyway, sorry for the Gettysburg Address. But it's how I feel. Your old ACB cohort. 😎

I know I sure miss the multiplayer component. It was such a unique thrill - the high of sneaking up unsuspected on someone and striking when they least expect it, paired with the eerie unease of knowing that you were being stalked and preyed upon by another party... and that it could be anyone in the crowd, a person you don't see on the rooftops above, or even someone cleverly hiding in a bale of leaves...

Maaaaaybe. Right now, priority #1 is getting through all the current transmedia. I think some novelizations are more worth exploring than others (like Unity, which is from Elise's POV). The other factor is that I'm considering ending this series soon, as it doesn't perform as well as my other videos and would give me more time to work on those other videos.

Frankly he's the only guy I know of who reviews the "transmedia." Hopefully he at least reviews any notable pieces even if it's not everything.
