I've been using both for the last 2 months in several different garage/backyard and professional gyms cross country (that means NOT the same exact assault bike or xebex but the same models reviewed here) and honestly I respectfully disagree. My experience was button for button pound for pound the xebex just felt more solid, is easier to get on during intense WODs and the monitor is easier to read (most of us are pushing so hard we can barely remember our names during intensity work so little things like this make a difference). Xebex is on top. You add to the fact that Xebex comes w/300 dollars worth of free gifts at full price and is a bit more than 500 around BLACK FRIDAY coming up it's a no-brainer. F the status quo... performance wise for me the Xebex just felt right. (No I'm not in any way affiliated or being compensated).

I have a xebex and put it together straight out of the box with no tinkering and 10 months later there is no wobble at all, I've not even had to re-tighten anything.

What is the longevity of the bike? What about rust factor? We have 2 stationary bikes In Our garage that have rusted out due to a lot of use.

I've used both. I prefer the Xebex for it's higher handles. I'm a taller person and when using the Xebex I feel more of the "rowing" action in my back and rear delts because the handles are higher. Just something to consider

Never used an airdyne bike before, but looking to be possibly in the market for one at home, but really on a budget. If the monitor and calorie/metric formulation wasn't an issue do you think one of the old schwinn airdynes could work for just garage gym use? Are the new air bikes much harder or do they give a difference level of difficulty or resistance?
@AMRAP8 жыл бұрын
The new air bikes are definitely a bit harder at an earlier point, but thats not to say you couldn''t make the old ones hurt. If you don't care about how the calories are counted, you could just go with an older Airdyne.

@AMRAP7 жыл бұрын
smilinjoe23 I talked to GetRxd about the airmill and they just told me it's the same bike as the xebex, but the handles are made to look like the assault. Otherwise everything should be the same.

I just bought the airmill from the getrxd store in Houston. I tired the assault bike in their store. They are the same bike. The only difference is price. I got the airmill for 650 bucks.

Which one is more challenging for high intensity interval training?
@AMRAP8 жыл бұрын
They're equally as bad. Bad as in good though, they're both two of the best bikes you can get for anaerobic training. If you don't have a budget or you're just going to get one, I would spend the money on the Assault, otherwise the Xebex provides as good a workout, though the overall finish isn't as nice.

Thanks for the video. Schwinn just came out with the AD Pro. It is belt driven. How do you feel about this bike?
@AMRAP7 жыл бұрын
Fugitive136 I only got to try it one time; it felt smooth, built well, counts calories different (faster). Looks like a great machine, but it's not CrossFit "standard" so it's hard for me to want to put money into one. If you don't really care, I'm sure it would be the same ass kicking as these bikes. I have a friend that LOVES his.

@@AMRAP Schwinn and Octane fitness claims there Bikes burns more calories than any bike out on the market then again what company won't claim that
@AMRAP5 жыл бұрын
@@mikegreen5502 Your calories burned solely depends on how much work you want to put into it. Claims are just claims. Either way you go, they don't count calories the same (their algorithms are different) and the AD Pro just counts them faster anyways. The AD Pro is a fine machine, but it doesn't actually burn calories any faster than any other bike if you're not willing to put in the work.

Question: I've been using the Assault Bike for a year now and the handles (where the foot rest bar meets base) comes loose and I have to keep tightening it. Does this happen with your Assault Bike? Does this happen on the Xebex or is it more secure?
@AMRAP8 жыл бұрын
It's literally the same connectors between the two. Did you make sure to tighten the nut the opposite way while you're tightening the foot peg?
@youngwoo36628 жыл бұрын
Yes, I did. I have 3 Assault Bikes and it's an issue on 2 of them, may be a manufacturer defect. May have to look at Xebex Bikes!
@AMRAP8 жыл бұрын
+Young Woo Hmmm, yeah I haven't had that issue with the Xebex bike since I've had it. We just went hard on the assault bikes today and I didn't notice anything but they're only like a week old.

So what you can do is apply loctite 242 or loctite 262 to the threads of the foot peg that screw into the frame. That'll stop it from coming loose.

@@AMRAP that doesn't sound good so are they lying to the people about the calory burned ??? Well I don't know if this is true but I've heard the AD PRO and the Air Dyne X which is pretty much the same machine I've read that they offer the highest resistance out of any AirBike so maybe that's why it counts faster because not always but for the most part the higher the resistance at a steady to fast pace one is pushing there body harder hence faster caloric burn ?????
