Best Instructional video ever!! Rigid should pay you for this content. The parts are so tight in some cases that I would have taken this back if it wasn't for your instructions. I see a lot of folks complaining about the holes are not aligned, but that's because they need a rubber hammer to knock some of them in place. Great Job!

100% agreed! I’ve watched dozens of how to instructional videos on using equipment, and this is the best. You should teach others how to do these type of videos. The dialogue was simple and efficient, the split screen of the instructions was smart and the video was clear and easy to follow. Thank you!

The "instructions" they provide for this thing are a joke. I like paper instructions, but I'd rather they just linked a QR code to this video and left the booklet out.

I was really surprised how much cutting power (and torque) this saw had out of the box. I've used other (10" saws) previously and was pretty surprised with the speed and cutting ability of this Dewalt saw.I have bolted mine to a table to minimize movement which I highly recommend.This is a Great saw kzbin.infoUgkxPeGkHOMe05FySypTOvYumxMn-xi39oRe with a light to see your cutting line (not a laser line).I'd recommend this saw fro anyone looking to upgrade from a 10" miter saw.

I had to put a clamp across the frame tubes to pull them together enough to get the foot tube in. I also think the clamp rail system is an over-complication, but it does work fine. I’m comparing this to the DeWalt version and trying to choose which one to keep. The DeWalt build quality and paint job is better, but the Ridgid has two huge advantages: 1) the wheel diameter is 50% bigger, making it possible to get it up and down stairs unassisted, and 2) when setting the cart up for use with a saw already attached, you don’t have to lay the whole thing down flat on the ground and then lift all that weight up to the latched position like you do on the DeWalt. People mostly criticize the DeWalt because their cables are out of adjustment, which is dumb - just adjust your cables. These other two issues, especially if you have an aging back, are far more significant. I’m leaning toward keeping the Ridgid and selling the DeWalt. But I do wish the overall attention to detail on the Ridgid were a little better.
@MarriedManWoodworking
@MarriedManWoodworking 2 жыл бұрын
It seems you are doing a great analysis and compare. I have been pleased with the RIdgid and never worked with the DeWalt. The larger wheels have made it easier to get up stairs as you said and I have not had any significant issues. Thanks for leaving a detailed comment as I am sure it will benefit others who read it.

Great video. Just letting everyone know... I bought this to go with a Milwaukee Tool 12-inch Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Mitre Saw Model # 6955-20. BUT with this saw, the way it rotates to the mitre spots, the mounting nut and bolts DO NOT WORK. They stick up too tall and don't allow full rotation, plus the back ones stop the saw from extending back. Even if you use their option 2 of mounting on a board, it still wouldn't work. My fix, after 2 days of trying to figure it out, was to turn the mounting bars around, buy new operator side hex nuts and bolts (5/8ths) that can sink in the spots and sawed off the back ones. You have to make sure they can be reachable inside the mounting bars. I like the saw and I like the stand, I'm just trying to make others less frustrated.

Great video. Thanks for sharing. I have the same setup as you but with a 12" dewalt dual bevel sliding miter and mine doesn't open unless I'm putting my whole body weight on one side. What am I doing wrong? Maybe a demonstration or any tips with this particular saw would be super helpful.

So the saw is attached to the brackets and the brackets attach to the stand. You can unlock the lever locks and slide the saw to the left or right. You might want to slide it more to the left to see if that makes it easier to open and close the stand. Make sure to lock the lever locks again when you adjust the position. I will take a look and maybe make a video on this subject. Thanks for watching and commenting. I wish you the best of luck resolving this concern.

@@MarriedManWoodworking Thank you so much for that tip! That worked for me perfectly. I moved the saw to the left, making the weight balance and now I'm able to unfold it with ease. You are amazing. Thank you my friend!

I was waiting for the Toughbilt TB-S600 to come back in stock, but it may still be a few months...so I ordered the Ridgid instead. Should be here in a couple of days.

I think you did a super job on your video. Did you consider any other stands, maybe the ToolsBuilt S600? I am leaning towards the AC9946 because the handles on the two saw mounts have levers that are protected. They do t stick out like the ToughBuilt. Also something you might want to consider, is adding 2 lockable swivel casters to the handle end of your stand. That said I have very long arms and can reach the locks from the sides. If you can’t reach, I think regular casters are fine. When you collapse it and lock it in place, you can lean the handle against the tailgate and lift from the opposite end and roll it into you bed just like a gurney. Just my 4¢ worth, adjusted for inflation.

Great video, too bad I watched it after I struggled all day with trying to use the AWFUL USLESS instructions! Like some of the other posters, {AND in the video, the handle doesn't really fit and had to WD 40 it and beat the heck out of it to get it in. In addition, due to some of the bolts just being just a tad too big, had to visit my local Lowes to purchase bolts that will fit. I thought about taking the thing back but once put together, it is a great piece of equipment!

Well done! I bought this frame today and it was missing the bag with the axle bolts and 4 adjustment knobs. Thanks to Home Depot for opening another box and supplying me the parts I needed. Ridgid Customer Service was MIA. The directions that came with the frame are garbage! You can’t tell which bolt goes where and the diagrams are tiny. You same me from throwing the whole mess across my garage.👍 Your video was quick, clear and easy. It was together in no time. It works like a dream.

Thank you for sharing your video, I’m thinking of getting one myself. They’re on sale currently for $169, I have ruled out the more expensive Dewalt version because of smaller wheels and price. I do have a 12” Dewalt slider that is breaking my back every time I have to set it up on the collapseble stand by Dewalt. This will definitely make my work much easier taking out of my storage up the stairs too vs carrying it.

This video made it an easy decision to finally purchase this stand. Unfortunately RIDGID decided not to include half of the installation parts in the box, so I’ll have to wait another two weeks to be able to finish putting this together. Great job on the step by step instructions as well as the closeup shots.

I really liked this cart until I realized that they failed to include actual rollers. Also the older version has nice supporting feet that drop out from the extending (non) rollers. One step forward two steps back.

6:00 so how do you decide like, how it’s attached to the brackets? Should it be centered? Or slid all the way one way? I’m just concerned how I’m supposed to make sure it’s actually even on both sides…
