Good review. I like your idea of putting the handle on the bed of your truck to help load. I’ve noticed a lot of beds have the spray on rhino type bed liner. These can create resistance. My suggestion would be to drill a couple holes in that handle and add a couple casters with locks and a threaded stem. Slide the stem through the tube handle and add a couple lock nuts. This should help to roll the stand and saw not your pickup.

I have one of these. Purchased a few years ago (it's 2023 as I write this). I like the Ridgid MSUV for the most part. The one flaw is the placement of the tension levers which lock/unlock the wing/supports for extending/contracting. The frame of the MSUV prevents the lever on the rear-left-side from being turned while the stand is fully-deployed. The right-side-front is fine. But the stand has to be at least partially folded-up in order for the left-rear tensioner to be turned freely. This is awkward for one person, but can be done. Other than that, I've appreciated the otherwise user-friendly and strong-enough-for-my-tasks nature of this portable stand. I've got an Admiral 12-inch compound-miter-saw (from Harbor Freight) mounted on mine. Overall, I don't think I could have done better for the money spent. :-)

would it be easier to load the sand wheels first into a pickup truck bed and roll it in instead of sliding it .?

Great video. Thanks for sharing. You didn't show how it opens up, only how it collapses. I have the same setup as you but mine doesn't open unless I'm putting my whole body weight on one side. What am I doing wrong? Maybe a demonstration or any tips with this particular saw would be super helpful.

Nice review. That does look like the stand to get. 👍

After owning this one, would you consider owning the smaller msa330 version at all? This bigger one is on sale and obviously it folds up and down much easier then the other model but maybe being a little more compact might be nice. Wishing the MSA330 was on sale so the prices were different. Eyeballing the WEN model too, it's really similar too the smaller Ridgid one. Also the smaller model has actually rollers and this bigger model it appears they don't roll, not sure if that matters

Thinking about getting one for my DeWalt planer. I might mount to 1/2” or 3/4” board first. Then clamps to the plywood.

I have the exact same saw, can you get through a doorway with the DWS780 mounted ?

Looks like my same miter saw setup, the easy maneuverability and storage it provides is just way too convenient

very similar to the toughbuilt stand except for square framing . no stock anywhere though.

Do you see any negatives with storing the saw vertically on the stand when not in use? I also have a dewalt 780 compound miter so I was curious.
@F4CreationsNJ3 жыл бұрын
None for a basic 12in saw, but I am curious about how a slider does being stored vertically. I have a 12in stationary bosch that has been on one of these rigid stands for 2 months now. No issues with alignment, just move, plug in and go

I just got a DeWalt 779 and put it on this rigid rolling stand. I was worried about storing it vertically also since the only thing holding this heavy sliding saw would be the clamps. So I bolted a piece of 3/4 plywood to the stand and then bolted the clamps to the plywood under the saw. Problem solved.

I have mounted an Admiral 12-inch compound-sliding-miter-saw (from Harbor Freight) to my Ridgid miter-saw-universal-vehicle. No regrets. Small amount of floor-space when stored. User-friendly when deployed. I turn the saw 45 degrees left and lock it in-place with the saw-blade in the down position for passing through doorways.

easily store vertically. very moble with the huge weeks. nothing negative .

$141 at home depot now if you buy the ridgid 12" combo with free stand and return the saw.

What do you use to lubricate the rails to make it easier to slide the saw back and forth?
@kenturner326811 ай бұрын
I would use dry lubE. One that sprays on wet then the carries evaporates and leaves graphite or SI02 , PTFE etc.
@harrydoherty829911 ай бұрын
my chop saw slides without any force but dry lub wouldn’t hurt .

I just got the same setup! What hardware did you use to mount yours? Seems like the Ridgid hardware is either too long or too short.
@jerrykearns63442 жыл бұрын
Same here. I ended up using the long bolts and then cut the front ones off with an angle grinder using a thin cut off wheel to allow full range miter travel on both sides. Took about 4 seconds per bolt after half an hour trying to make the short bolts work.

Just bought one….I don’t know, it’s waaaaaay more than I need. I haven’t even put it together yet. Just looking at it on the box I feel like it’s gonna take up so much space. I might return it and buy the rigid compact stand. I don’t know….might keep it. Had one of the older rigid stands (had like the flat metal sort of table top). That thing was big and bulky…but I bet it weighed less than this one. Anyhow….thanks for the vid.

I've been waanting to buy this stand but for some reason I'm not rushing a d I think it's because I'm a little worried about the size. I've been eyeballing the smaller model, looks solid and seems it would mostly do the same exact task
