GM looks like the big surprise this year and 2K seems to have undersold it during the marketing, this is a lot closer to a true GM mode than previous years and as someone who has spent hundreds of hours in games like pro wrestling sim I can see myself playing this version of GM mode now.

Once they'd added a few things via patch, it became quite a good mode. Admittedly, I rarely get through a full season but it's fun to chuck on, do a draft, work through a few PPV's and because of the shake up cards, I still come across a few features I wasn't aware of.

I like this new talent scout system, the search fee for the higher tier character's is a bit annoying since what we get is random but I enjoy rhe added challenge.

The steel cage match makes so much more sense as a rivalry ender! In real life, steel cages are more often than not the blowoff of a big rivalry and now we can blow off tag team rivalries!

Great video. You usually kill it and this was no exception. My enthusiasm for the mode and for the game has gone up even further. Really the only thing that is missing from what I have seen is the ability to have 6 and 8 man matches

They should just merge MyGM and universe and allow us to toggle off/on which features we want and which ones we don’t. They should take note from NBA's GM mode, which is incredibly detailed and immersive.

You need to understand 2K has been creating NBA game for decades now, but they just recently started creating WWE games. 2K20 was a crash course in wrestling game development when Yikes walked out with all of the game building tool kits, so 2K had to try to reverse engineer WWE 2k18 in hopes to try and finish making 20. That's why 2K skip the year so they could develop a tool kit to create the next game, so basically they've only been making WWE games for roughly 3 1/2 years or so.

I don't do GM Mode, never got into it but I absolute respect it as a mode and how many people love it. Seeing 2K actually apply effort and put so much work into that mode this year is incredible. There are definitely cons this year, but I feel like the pro's finally outweigh them. Great video as always, Matt!

MyGM is what keeps me playing these games. I am glad they are adding more to it, especially the tag team call out promos. I hope next time they have the competitive matches between brands like Elimination Chamber, Royale Rumble, Survivor Series, etc., and also have an option for a full year of MyGM with all PLE for 12 months instead of 25 weeks. I ordered the standard edition so I can unlock the content over time like older games such as the Mortal Kombat games.

Love this, all that I think is missing is controlling the promos like many versions ago. If it was in here hands down GM would be the best version. I love what you said about the money. It is going to be alllllll about saving and using money wisely early on. You can't just go out and spend your money and build a huge roster and cost through. I also like the ranks go reverse so if you need players to help you, you get to go first then the player in 1st keeps growing cause they get shot at the roster first. It going to be a strategy way more in this game.

Loads of fantastic additions, would love to know what the PLEs are and if they're different. Hopefully they can add in MITB and the Rumble in 2k25, these are the biggest pieces missing from MyGM in my book. Other nice to haves would be Gauntlet match, Special Guest for Tag, Triple Threat and Fatal Four-way, Number One Contender matches and the ability to set up tournaments for them. Can't wait to play the update though 🤩

I don’t play my GM I really don’t play any other mode but universe mode. This is the reason why I haven’t bought the game in two years. I wanted to buy this year because I know they did do some cool stuff with match types and a few other things, but either way I had to stop in and watch the video because, even though this is not my type of thing I still want to show some love for Matt here @assemble for all the hard work he does. This was all really great to see. The tag stuff was much needed, the cage match for ending rivalries, the casket match for binning off talent, the trade system, the perks... just brilliant. I love the levelling wrestlers up thing. My main 2 requests going forward... Allow us to add in Manager/Faction content. The Blood Line are the biggest thing in WWE, then there's all the classics like DX, Nation, NWO, etc. It just feels like an oversight. Putting Heyman with guys who can't talk should be how you get around their lack of promo skills and level their skills up. The other big request, would be to allow us to use Custom Brands. We already have the arenas in the game, titles, etc. Feels like it shouldn't be all that difficult to allow us to create our own brands to use. Either way, it's been a long time since I've watched a video checking frame by frame to see what new stuff there is and this didn't disappoint.

I think the class change thing is pretty big. The class system felt pretty limiting and I almost never used anyone aside from brawlers and fighters because of it
